throat clearing

Ok, so everyone in my part of the country has been miserable with the pine pollen blowing around and i was no exception. for two weeks i had sinus misery and drainage. However, that's pretty much passed and now I just suffer with this weird thing in the back of my throat that always makes me feel like i need to clear my throat. I get this EVERY TIME i am on a cycle...and i JUST started this one! What is up with that??? Does anyone else have this problem? I take a very low dose of test every ten days or so for HRT and that doesnt seem to have the same effect. (although my voice seems to be permanently lower now that Ive gone through menopause and dabbled with cycling). This throat thing is SO irritating!

Do you have allergies? Do you take allergy meds?

As far as the thing in the back of you throat. Does it feel like a constant line of snot going down the back of your throat? If so it could be post nasal drip from a sinus infection. I've had that and it made me miserable. Needed antibiotics to clear up.

If you normally have allergies, you meds may not be working that great. I have chronic congestion in the back of my throat from allergies. I started using nasocort nasal spray and it has helped immensely.

Any thoughts of seeing your primary care physician for the problem?

Its getting better i just wondered if there was a connection between the gear and my sinuses LOL . I absolutely do not trust doctors and since i am almost NEVER sick, i never go except for my yearly female check up. I would only take antibiotics as a very last resort. I actually keep some on hand just in case (like the odd bladder infection here and there that I dont think i should have to go to the darn doctor for--I KNOW what is wrong with me in those cases!!!). I just actually got a primary care doctor for the first time in YEARS last year. I've always had a gyno tho. I guess when all this pollen passes this will pass. Right now its only really bugging me at night. A little during the day but not much. IF it isn't gone in a couple weeks I'll take a round of these antibiotics. Ugh.

I'm only 9 days into my cycle and my experience is very similar. Feel a scratchiness and it doesn't come on till later in the afternoon & lasts the rest of the day. I'm in a country area also and wondered the same as you! Hoping it's just an allergy thing because I don't want to deal with this for 12 wks.. worried it wouldn't reverse if I pushed it that long Hope yours (& mine!) clears up!

Hi I am new here. Going To post my log soon. Countdown 4 days out. I saw this thread and immediately thought of thyroid throat clearing issues I always have. May want a true functional thyroid test. Not just Tsh and whatever. You need and deserve the goods! Hope it's just allergies, you can try an elimination diet to target or specify if your sinus is due to a food allergy. Good luck!!! Show that thyroid test to your doc and he or she will look at you sideways like where did you get this!? Haha!
