Time for TRT?

Just got blood work back from PCP and my TT was 246. Normal range 250-1100.
She referred me to a local endocrinologist who i see next week.
My questions are what should i expect? Will i get injections right away?
Will more testing need to be done?
What if he tries to prescribe the cream instead of injections?
Just a little anxious because i want this appt to go well.
Thanks for any and all replies guys.

I told my doc I didn't want cream because I spent a lot of time with my young kids and didn't want to worry about transfer. He said, "OK", and gave me the script for cyp. You won't have a problem with that low of a level. Depending on the endo, they may just write the script with no other tests or questions.

My doc gave me options and asked which route I wanted to go. I would go with what @Gbro stated. Tell the doc you’ve done your research and you’re not interested in the cream as it’s easily transferred from the skin.

You’re right at the lower range so you’ll definitely get a script if that’s what you want to do. Now, he may start you low. Never can tell as all docs are so different. My natural T score is half yours and my doc only has me on 100mg a week. In my docs defense, that puts me in the 800s. Which is where a good doc will somewhat want you.

Good luck! It’s a life long decision.

Depends on the doc. The 'guidelines' are to have 2 consecutive tests with low numbers. Also, if FT is good, they might do nothing.

If another test gives you that, or they just prescribe ... next will be the form. Docs have favorites but cost can be huge. I'm on 200/wk with a 10ml vile @$15ea - so with syringes, alcohol and cotton balls its about $100/year. Topicals would cost $5,000/yr. SubQ $6,600/yr. So find out costs. The example above with kids is also a good excuse if you want injection.

Dose will be in the air. Another 'guideline' is to inject 200ml once for 3 weeks and check nadir. They do this twice. If 'low' (whatever they decide that is), then 200ml for 2 weeks and check nadir. Twice again. Etc. Some docs will target 400's. Others 600s. Depends on what the guy is like.

Another 'guideline' is that if you don't feel better in 6 months, then discontinue. [ This is somewhat ridiculous especially with a low target ]. So remember to say you feel somewhat better but were hoping to feel more so (if you want a higher amount). If you say you don't feel any benefit, some will just drop you.

As another note, after you make it through all of that, if you have a choice, always have bloods checked nadir. I've got docs in NY freaking out with 200mg/wk even though nadir is sometimes below 400. Can't imagine what trouble they might stir if they saw a peak. Now maybe docs are laid-back where you are but this is the way it is where I live.

We're all doing well bud. Just trying to get this low test figured out.
How you been feeling? Still banged up?
No more sports with this corona BS.
The wife's school district just closed for 2 weeks and the oldest came home yesterday(his college closed).
So I've got a full house right now!! lol
I hear you on the low test. I've never fooled around with the topical, just pin once a week. My doctor never even mentioned it, but he knows I've cycled so maybe that's why?

That's great that you guys have a family gathering going on, at least for a little while haha. I'm waiting to hear that I shouldn't come to work one of these days myself.

Things are good with me. Work is crazy busy still, I'm training again and for the most part I'm going strong.

I'm on the cream twice a day and I feel fantastic from the extra DHT conversion.
I apply it to the back of my scrotum so that it doesn't get in contact with anyone.
No needles, no pip, travel is easy, takes 2min twice a day, no need to let it dry, puts me at 1600ng/dl in the trough before next application.

Eating all my damn food but I Can’t find food at the grocery store because all these crazy people think there about to be living in an episode of the walking dead. I’m buying guns an ammo these fools are buying hand sanitizer and toilet paper lol. I’ll just take there shit with my guns and ammo if it turns out that bad:D

Just a quick update. After my initial appt the endo wanted more lab work. Total test came back at 241 this time. Started me on testosterone gel 1 pump daily.
It's been 6 weeks and i do feel better. Labs in 2 more weeks to see where I'm at. They started very conservatively since all my docs needed to weigh in about my cardiac issues.
Only negative seems to be ejaculating very quickly since i started trt. I mean way too quick.
Anyone have this issue on trt.

I have the opposite. And it gets old.

Lol, I don’t think you’re supposed to use the gel that way! [emoji15]

That’s strange that transdermal works that way. Injectable testosterone seems to work opposite. Makes a 30 second quickie take at least 30 mins each time.

Do you prefer the gel? If not, tell doc you don’t want to take a chance of your girl contacting the gel inadvertently - that’s a legitimate reason to get injectable testosterone.

That made me laugh bro.
I would prefer injections but my endo prefers his patients on the gel.
I see him in 2 weeks to go over my upcoming blood work. I'll discuss injections with him.

How is your sleep? Do you get restless and feel tired in the morning because of the test?
