> All I have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS? I celebrate Christmas, but because it isn't celebrated by everyone, we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings. It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday? We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that.

BUMP 100% There's one thing people must understand though, if we are going to let these people into our country we have to adapt to them because they're too stupid to adapt themselves( refer to chris gordon's thread to learn more about stupid people) and we have to adapt to them for one major reason, crime.

thick, there's a great book called 'the twilight of common dreams' by todd gitlin. it's a real eye-opener and discusses this phenomenon, specifically, from it's inception to the time the book was written. a must read for every 'american' who cares about the society he/she lives in.

if you have any faith in my book recommendations, you'll pick this one up.

I am very leary about your recommendations. The last book u recommended was supposed to be based on family values and it turned into porn fest involving men women midgets and farm animals. very disgusting especially the chapters on gender reversal and animal equality. still makes me sick thinking about it ;)

I've been meaning to make a similar post for several months, but I've never gotten around to it.

They say we're a melting pot and a conglomeration of various cultures. This is true, however, a melting pot implies that the immigrants culture and the existing American culture melt together. As in, they both become watered down and assimlate parts of each. It does not mean that towel heads can exist in this country in the same manner in which they lived in their own country. It does not mean that a business in America run by Japanese people can function in the same fashion as it would in Japan.

People say that there is no distinctively American culture. Bullshit! What other country relies so heavily on cars? What other country has at least 2 cars per household? What other country has an average of 3 telvision sets per household? What other country has attached garages? Hell, I've never even seen a garage in Mexico. What other country pays their athletes 50 times what they pay their teachers? What other country pays their actresses 10 million dollars to show their tits? What other country has such a fucked up, guilt ridden view of sexuality?

I propose that all of these, and many others, can be said to comprise a distinctively American culture. So much for your fucking melting pot.
