So much naivety... I’m not going to argue, but I will say if a pit attacks they’re going to maul you and not bite once and back off like the vast majority of other dog breeds.

But I mean, that’s opinion. Tho. And it’s not naivety, I’m pulling actual facts here.

.1 % more likely to be bitten by a golden retriever . The .1% is not the real thing to take away from this.

What is to take away that the breed is not anymore likely to bite than any other breed.

There’s a difference between biting and mauling. And I agree all dog breeds are dangerous, but there’s a reason you cannot rent an apartment or get a townhome if you have certain breeds as they’re too much of an insurance liability.

This is from the AVMA

Again, 1 dog bite per 100k pitbull. Again what’s to take from this chart is the amount of other dogs that are deemed ok, but the pitbull is not.

Don’t forget, if a dog is biting is probably 90% of the time a humans fault

Golden retrievers where on the bite list for several years too.

And yes I can see your reasoning bite vs maul. I would say it’s a terrier thing. Every terrier I’ve ever own when it bites/play/rodent kills they shaking their mouth , and when a pitbull bites they do the same thing

I was actually bitten by a Rottweiler when I was a young child. I’ve seen a few of those that are aggressive. I had a Jack Russell that was surprisingly aggressive growing up toward strangers.

I’ve never had a bad experience with a Pit, but they are all different. Just like people

And I’ve had several bad experiences with pits, which is why I do not like the breed at all. On top of them looking like great white sharks, they’re fucking hideous.

That’s fair man. I’ll never be able to change your mind with that. I would like to say I promise you, a properly raised pitbull will change your life , and I bet @Mac11wildcat can attest to that.

Also it’s great multi-cultural shark, you fucking racist lol

I can understand why people would shy away from they.

1 bad experience will make anyone shy away from any particular breed.

My infant child slept on my pitbull, and I never felt that my infant was more safe.

I get where you’re coming from. And I’m sure getting one as a pup is less dangerous than rescuing an ex-fighter. The people that rescue ex-fighting pits and have young kids are absolute dipshits.

Now that I will agree with 100%

I was bit on the face by a German shepherd when I was 4yrs old. I got down on the ground and blew in its face while it was eating. It looked at me, turned its head sideways and clamped down on my cheeks(whole face). I had 4 fang punctures in my cheeks. Not one of my best moments.

I’ll stick with greyhounds and other sighthounds - they’re my breed of choice. Extremely intelligent and they have a long and rich history as a breed dating back to ancient times.

Pits used to be nanny dogs...

It isn’t the breed. I’m capable of some shit...never killed anyone. My guns are lethal. Never killed anyone.
