Gimme Shelter by Stone Sour may not have “outdone” the Stones, but fuck you if it isn’t an amazing cover. Corey + Lizzy Hale is perfect.

Even if the cover adapted and made it better, that’s different. Since you brought up the Stones - KISS completely remade 2000 Man and in my opinion, they killed it and made it a completely different song. OTOH, Metallica remade Green Hell by the Misfits and it wasn’t worthy to be used as toilet paper to wipe Danzig’s ass with. Ironically, off that same album, when Metallica remade the Misfits “Last Caress”, they outdid the original.
Took me less than two minutes to find those pictures. /shrug

I have a lot of respect for anyone putting out REAL music right now. Me beloved hip hop is a shitshow. New rock got soft and repetitive. Greta Van Fleet gets shit for sounding too much like Zepelin.
Pretty much all music has gone downhill in the past 15 years, unfortunately. The radio isn’t even worth listening to anymore as it’s all mainstream uninspired crap! From rock, to hip hop, to pop - it all sucks. There’s one station in my area that still plays a lot of 80s synth pop and it’s the only station worth listening to if I’m going to listen to the radio, but 99% of the time I have my phone plugged into the auxiliary outlet and play music through the YouTube music app.

I have my iPod hooked up in my car. Yes, iPod, because that’s how I roll. But I’m never disappointed! In our new car, nothing hooked up so we're stuck with the radio and I’m constantly flipping the stations. Our “Alternative” station seems to be playing those faggots Twenty-One Pilots every time I get in the car or Imagine Dragons or Arctic Monkeys. Man I hate those bands with a passion and I don’t even care that Twenty-One Pilots are from my hometown... they suck balls!!!!!
Imagine Dragons has invaded every fucking station in my area, including 93x that is the “rock” station but only plays shit mainstream rock that’s hardly rock at all.
Can’t stand that group at all. They’re the epitome of mainstream garbage music. And they’re extremely successful which means dick all when it comes to the quality of their music, just like FFDP. The most successful bands/singers make shit uninspired music that panders to the lowest common denominator - so being extremely “successful” almost ensures their music sucks major dicks. It’s not a good marker to go by when judging the quality of music in the 21st century.
