Also to remain true to your original statement, I don’t ever recommend these oddball rounds for a first type of round or anything. Just is someone is specifically wanting something with a purpose.

Absolutely everyone should own an ar and a standard caliber pistol
Why spend thousands of dollars on weapons for funzies. Why not spend that money on ammo and training ? Go buy and attended a professional training course and then come back and tell me you should have bought .224 Valkyrie instead

I have. I’ve done 2 D-5 courses with Travis Haley. I have always wanted to plan a trip to thunder valley, I just can’t seem to make it out there.

Again, I am agreeing with you that a standard caliber round is the way to go, but there are other calibers that can do
The job more efficiently or can be more fun when budget allows

I laughed out loud at this and completely agree.

Two oddest calibers in my house are .45ACP and .357...but everyone has to have a badass wheel gun and a 1911 right? Everything else is 9mm and 5.56 including other 1911's. Now I am sure someone will say how worthless 1911's are..be sure to pull my zipper down with your teeth. I enjoy all guns :) but these oddly built rifles seem to just be people with too much time on their hands, but to each their own.

I don’t think like a civilian, I don’t want too. Everything has a reason and everything I buy or use is for a fight. Either a home invasion or a damn WW3 scenario. That odd ball shit will end up as a paper weight, if you want it buy it makes no difference to me but for the average guy they don’t need a special weapon/round they need training and more training.

Jfc. Why not do something simply for fun. I get it everyone is trained killers and can wipe out battalions of Taliban with nothing more then a spork.

I hunt as hobby not necessarily to eat everything I hunt, it's fun. I shoot for fun unless a situation dictates otherwise. If shit hits the fan and my house is burnt down leaving me with an oddball round in my gun hopefully the guy I shoot is carrying something more common.

Xanax isn't always a bad thing boys

Well, I do 100% agree with that. Nothing can/will change your mindset from your background. Also, take away the fact that you don’t hunt animals (might be wrong) or participate in “sporting events” (might be wrong) there is no need for any type of specialty round.

I don’t have to many odd ball rounds any more believe it or not. Of course, I don’t consider them oddballs. Rural king sells all of it lol. 10mm, 6.5grendel, 6.5 creedmore, and 450bushmaster all all carried there.

Damn I miss the gun talk. It’s always refreshing to be able to have real talks with military personal when they are willing to share. Even if it’s not about guns.

This is Exactly why I can’t stand talking guns, FUDDs and YouTube are cancer.

Orders starting tomorrow at noon will all receive a free 30 credit after min is met. This can be used to add to your order but not drop below min. Just add a line for your free item or if your stuff is over min by 30 or more then subtract it from your total. Just stay @ 250 shipped total and all is good.

This offer will be good for the next 20 orders received, however long that takes. All packs from the weekend (including today as announced previously) will be taken care of Monday upon my return.

I wish you all well and if possible take a little time to enjoy what the earth has to offer. Remember to leave it cleaner than you found it!

Never trained with and don't know Travis but solid rep. I imagine it was good. There is video of him on youtube when he was with BW. Rooftop battle in Najaf where they flew in after UN forces abandoned as I recall (Edit; he was running Bremmer's detail, huge fucking deal, as BW had Baghdad and central with Triple Canopy and Dyncorp splitting up the rest). He was pushing the range of 556 and crushing. If you trained carbine with him, check out how the weapon manipulations and reloads have changed since then. Guy was Force Recon too so not an amateur at that point. This is what 20 years of war and CQB gets you...we have fine tuned the shit out of how to fight with a rifle as well as CQB doctrine. The M4 has evolved and every detail of manual at arms has too. Crazy but true. Not saying that old standard mindset and getting on target and pulling trigger to make solid hits will ever be trumped but all the small stuff changing is huge on the same basic M16 platform we fielded in Vietnam.

Found them for you guys:

This is a fun piece on how the platform evolved to MK18 and we have tailored the same basic weapon system from this to the sniper or DMR setup Travis fielded in the video above Gunfighter Moment - Kyle Defoor - Soldier Systems Daily

Good quote from long time Gunsite instructor Randy Cain...heard it once and it always stuck with me: "Owning a gun doesn't make you a gunfighter anymore than owning a guitar makes you a musician."

Training, skills, practice...matter.

Great write up man. That was awesome to read. I did pistol and carbine with him. I decided on pistol first so I could really learn a trigger, as I consider it a core foundation.
