Just found out yesterday that my wife who is struggling with alcohol addiction and won’t accept any help, has been buying her piece of shit friend at work lunch so that her friend will repay her with liquor (because I watch the accounts).
Also found out yesterday that she has been talking to her “first love” on Facebook and made plans to meet him when she was traveling for work. I started going through her social media because of all the damn lies!

Nothing you can do with an addict until they decide to get help for themselves, it's a tough issue. (coming from a "former" addict)

Sometimes we hold on to people that doesn’t want to be held on to any longer. We have our reasons why and try to justify it by those reasons. If we were to really look into those relationships I believe 9/10 times the fire had already burnt out long ago, for whatever reason. I did the same thing. Held onto a 12 year marriage that was over 5-6 years prior. It’s crazy how we want to hang onto something that God himself is trying to pull apart.
I ended up just wasting time trying to make things work in that marriage. Just being miserable and arguing constantly over nothing. We both had our issues of course. Time is the only thing I can never get back. There’s no reason anyone should settle for less than happiness in this life. When you look back you’ll see it’s not worth your time being anything less than that!
