Rush are the fukin KINGS!! Say what you want about Geddy Lees voice but their talent is unmatched. No band will or never can match their sound with only 3 dudes. You want to talk about selling records with no air play then Rush is it. Even Metallica called them the Inventors of conceptual metal. You smoke a joint and throw on 2112 and be prepared for greatness. Greatest band that ever existed. Yes I do like Metallica, Rage against the machine, Incubus. Big Alternative fan so I'd say the 90's. Actually 70's-90's. Everything new sounds the same. And its mostly shit.

What's your favorite Metallica.track? If u had to pick just 1? I like Sanitarium myself
Just 1 all time favorite... Thats a hard one for anyone to answer bro...i have so many memories or events in my life surrounded around metallica songs...anyway, Nothing Else Matters is the one i play the most in my library to this day....Followed by Battery....followed by for whom the bells toll...ahhh....such a hard question...lol

Depends on what im doing, my mood, i had MEATALICA pinstriped across the back window of my truck in highscool. I haved listened to "the sounds of Humpback whales" while getting in the pants of this fat red head. I can remember certain songs, and they rekindle memories of this girl or that one. First time i heard TOOL's Sober, i was waiting t see the dentist at Ft. Sill. Lots of chicks are into Country right now. I like alot of music, the sound, the beat, the Anger, the Love. Anything with passion and VOLUME!

Rush prolly had more air play than acdc in the 80s,90s and even today. And thats pretty hard to do. Have more air play than acdc...
They were NEVER underground!
I wouldnt ever call them metal by any stretch

For geeks, this song is said to contain the entire history of pop music; composition, harmony, beat structure, arrangement etc.

Tell me your joking. ACDC is on all the time. Out of the first 6 studio albums only 3 fukin songs got any air play. 3!!! The 80's you'd hear Tom Sawyer of course, and maybe 1 or 2 from the 90's. Metallica isn't Underground. I didn't say Rush was. Their a cult following band like the Grateful Dead. I don't think their metal either. But in the Documentary All The Worlds a Stage, Metallica calls them the high priests of conceptual metal. Along with Pantera and Lemmy. Their following was built by word of mouth. 3 songs from airplay out of 6 albums is zero exposure. Metallica had air play long before their 6th album.

That band "Yes" would have to win the award for longest running band with most albums sold and least airplay.
Agree on that. Great prog rock group with basically owner of a lonely heart and roundabout as their air play songs.

Here you go. From stereogum.com. June 2014. Before Maiden, Metallica, and Slayer attracted global popularity with little to no help from radio or mainstream music press, Rush had already set the standard.

Yes, Metallica was once UNDERGROUND.
They sold gold without any air play or a music video.

Here is there autographed gold record signifying the event. Officialized by the RIAA.

As far as Rush goes. There a canadian band. Canadian bands have NEVER had much air play in the states until recently. I lived in Canada for 3 years. Ontario, and i found a whole host of music while i was there that was not only fuckin awesome but for whatever reason, never gets "approved" for american exposure. THAT is why Rush never caught on on a massive scale. That and Geddys awful herniated voice. But i think Neil was a badass.

Lemmy is the last of the REAL.
RIP
Walked it like he talked it and lived it like he sang it.
And a bottle of liquor a day everyday till he became a diabetic, lol
True rock n roll man

Agree on Geddy. You either hate him or love him. And yes what Metallica did was incredible. No doubt. But yes Rush is from Toronto but they signed with Mercury records for their debut because no Canadian label would sign them. Fukin Cleveland was the only city that played Working Man. LMAO. But yeah until Tom Sawyer, which was their 8th studio album they got no love. Regardless I like both. I'm just a fukin Rush nerd. Not one person in my squadron liked Rush. They were brutal at making fun of them. But I can't stand Iron Maiden so I'd use that for ammo.

My father in Law is a Rush nerd. Fun fact my FIL is also inducted in the country music hall of fame. Im sure you never heard of him tho. Alot of those guys you never do...
The most talented musician ive ever known was him and i respect it. But i cant get down with no Rush. Not even a little. Even if HE says there awesome
