"Today's Music"

Talent?

Literally thousands of super talented musicians nobody ever heard of.

Jesus reincarnated as a street guitarist;

My father in Law is a Rush nerd. Fun fact my FIL is also inducted in the country music hall of fame. Im sure you never heard of him tho. Alot of those guys you never do...
The most talented musician ive ever known was him and i respect it. But i cant get down with no Rush. Not even a little. Even if HE says there awesome
That's fukin awesome. I get it bro. Rush isn't for everyone. You have one badass FIL though.

Listened to mostly classic rock up until Jr High, cause that's what my parents listened to...

Learned what good rap was at the same time cause I grew up with some black dudes...loved rob bass, run dmc, beastie boys, etc.

Jr High, living in Arlington, TX was exposed to pantera, and it kind of changed my life. Metallica, Slayer, and Sepletura were staples on a daily basis.

However, today I was listening to some fucking Eazy-E...muthaphuking gangster shit.

When I was in college, I learned about real country...johnny cash, Waylon, etc. got into Texas country, Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, etc. good music to drink beer and hang out with friends.

Sturgill Simpson is someone I listen to often...I think he's something special.

But, sports radio is what takes most my time. I listen to the greatest sports radio station on the planet...it's documented, 1310 The Ticket in Dallas, TX is what catches my ear on a daily basis. Been listening to them for over 20 yrs now...if you like sports and good old fashion dudes talking shit, look them up.

Ramble over...cheers!

Okay, as someone who can take or leave Rush, I do have to say that Neil Peart was one bad ass drummer/musician!!!! Go listen to Tom Sawyer by Rush - especially around the 2:00 mark, and then definitely at the 2:30 mark. Again, I could take or leave Rush, but DAYYUM that drum solo by Peart at 2:30 is effing phenomenal.

The BEASTIE BOYS , i remember us sixth graders on the bus, crammed into the back seats, trying to listen to a cassete someone borrowed from an older brother. My first exposure to explicit lyrics, from there it was straight to 2 LIVE CREW.

I'm stuck in 80's, early 90's mainly. Hard rock/ metal. I will listen to other stuff but that's my wheel house.
