Torn between sources

I have been a mechanic for 25 years. This is not a do it for the money trade lol. If you really like to wrench dont work at a dealership or independent on a flat rate, find a fleet maintenance job that pays hourly. Fleet maint. usually has decent benefits and you can actually take your time and do a good job.

Definitely not for the money. I should have done more research before I made the switch. My thoughts were like "I'm gonna be a mechanic so I can build a racecar!" I do have a 420awhp car now... but I'm pretty tired of messing with it and just wish I had a job where I could afford a car that is fast from the factory lol.

I was flat rat up until last year. Now I'm hourly at a used car dealer making pretty decent money. I only just now got health insurance through the company and no other benefits... and like 80% of these cars that come from the auction are nightmares.
