Total Es Question...

I have normal E2 and high total Es. I take Arimidex as needed because it it too unpredictable with me. Sometimes my E2 goes too low and I loose my libido; sometimes it works fine but after I have sex, I loose my sex drive until my next T Cyp injection. Can progesterone cream be a better option than Arimidex or DIM with TMG or can it be used in conjunction with these medication for better maintenance of total Es in this situation.

Another issue is can high hemoglobin and hemotocrit affect Es or any of the other steroid hormone? I believe if I take low dose aspirin or fish oil, this can lower those levels?

According to Dr. John Crisler, Total Estrogen assay is invalid for males. Given this info and the fact that your E2 is normal, why even bother with taking arimidex?? Leave it alone and see how you do. That's better than adding a bunch of other meds and finding yourself in new deeper trouble.

Thanks for the response BigAk. Actually, Dr. John put me on the Arimidex. He told me to take .25mg ever other day. I tried this regimine and it made feel even worse. I'm getting labs done next week. Dr. John had told me that my total Es were sky high. Maybe these new labs will be telling. Also, my DHT is above the lab reference range and I'm not even on Androgel which causes higher DHT levels. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem.

How are you bodyfat % wise?
If you are overweight at all, losing weight can lower Total Es.

Zinc or ZMA can help, I wouldnt recomend CDG because I have read it can lower precursors to 17-ketosteroids(DHEA etc) along with E1.

Kanecore, how high was your Total Estrogens? In the 200's? And when were told of this?

What are you DHT levels. I also have high E2 and total E. I've been on proviron for about several weeks, I notice my nuts are larger but don't feel any better.

If your DHT is also low, maybe give proviron a try.

Sorry it took me so long to give a response.

JustOne, my bodyfat sucks! I know I should loose some weight and exercise more, but I just started a business and it takes all my time. What is CDG? I should take some zinc. I don't supplement my diet enough.

Normandy, Dr. John didn't tell me how high my total Es were, just that they were way too high and my E2 was in the lower reference range. I was told this before he put me on Arimidex a few months ago. I got labs taken at Quest in November, but they screwed up the estrogen sensitive test and I have to take it over this week.

TylerR, my DHT is actually very high at 97 ng/dl in a reference range of 25-75 ng/dl. My DHEA sulfate was 312 mcg/dl in a reference range of 110-370 mcg/dl.

I have to go to the urologist because I have a prostate abcess due to estrogen proliferation. Last year my E2 was sky high and I started getting pain and hey found an abcess. I've switched to two injections of T cyp per week and that has worked much better.
