Trans female to compete in Olympics

New Zealand Weightlifter Will Be The First Openly Trans Competitor At The Olympics/

You guys see this bullshit? I'm all for people doing whatever they want with there bodies. However you should give up the right to compete in sports if you choose to switch your plumbing around. Total asshole move.
Edit how do I code a link?
That's some fucking Bullshit. South Park was right!

Honestly, it's fucking bullshit. Why don't they just start allowing guys who blatantly juice to compete against the nattys? This trans woman has an unfair genetic advantage.

What they need to do is have a separate class for trans people. Unfortunately there probably aren't enough of them to do that :(

Just got in an argument with some 'woke' chick. She's trying to say it's degrading to women to be against a trans female competing against females and not care about a trans male competing against males.

Never argue with "woke" people. Male or female or trans or whatever. Woke people do not use logic in their arguments, similar to political extremists lol.

Regardless, I think a trans female competing against "normal" females has a distinct and large advantage over the non-trans females. However, a trans male competing against other males doesn't really have advantage, right?

I remember listening to a podcast, maybe Joe Rogan, and they talked about a trans woman has essentially been running steroids from the time they hit puberty until they start their gender reassignment, relative to a bio woman. And those years or decades of "steroid use" is a HUGE advantage for a trans woman.

So I don't see how that is fair, or "within the spirit of competition" at all.

Spot on. Trans people should not even be competing in the Olympics IMO unless they have their own division.

Only argument would be how big their testosterone dose is, but even then growing as female would still put them at a disadvantage I would think.

When you turned up the volume on logic did she freak out? Lmao
Yeah, I remained respectful. I was a little surprised I really thought she was smarter than she was acting. Virtue signaling at its finest. She even doubled down and said if a trans women got a scholarship over one of her daughters, if they'd been bested by 'her' she would be fine with it..... I call bullshit, there's a reason there's men and women's leagues in sports. It's a complete advantage.

Virtue signaling often supplants integrity and intelligence in the weak minded

We can't just not communicate with the "woke", their shit would spread even more like wild fire if we kept our mouths shut lmao You've got to stand up and say what is right, the shit no one wants to hear.

Brosky did you explain the anatomical differences between male and females? The difference the male hormones make? The limits of the human body... you could use extreme examples, like thor or Eddie versus a "strong" chick, is it any coincidence the strongest, biggest, fastest, and most athletic numbers have been posted by males in every single physical activity lol. Please go back and educate her, you've got a moral and ethical inclination to lmao just keep your tone steady and watch what you say. Shell probably hang up, cry, make a scene if you're in public, or call the police so be prepared.

A trans woman is a woman body on a man chassis. The bones are bigger and stronger, the muscles, too. “Her” testosterone is higher than a bio woman because of that.

Bio vs. trans: No contest!

I researched this quite a bit - transgender people have actually been allowed to compete for quite a while. The first case of this came up in the 70's where a trans woman was barred from competing in the US open unless she submitted to chromosome testing... But she sued and won the right to compete.

The IOC allows trans females to compete if their measured testosterone level has been below 5 nmol/L (144 ng/dL) for the previous 6 months, which was lowered from the previous standard of 12 month testing lower than 10 nmol/L (288 ng/dL) in 2019. The top of the reference range for biological females is 70 ng/dL... So, trans females are allowed to have testosterone levels more than double the amount of genetically gifted biological females... That's aside from considering the bone density, muscle fiber makeup, etc that they're biologically born with.

I don't have a problem with trans people competing in sports - it should be allowed. They're just different people but they're still people and we shouldn't stand in the way of people doing what they love just because they're different. HOWEVER, trans women should not be allowed to compete against biological females regardless of their hormone levels or any other standard the IOC dreams up. For an organization that follows WADA standards on doping where even asthmatics have to closely monitor their inhaler use... They're allowing this kind of contrast in the "level playing field"? I don't have a good answer for how they can organize this, other than allowing trans athletes to compete in their own category, but the way they have this currently setup is unfair to women. Frankly, to me, the trans women competing would almost have to be somewhat mentally disturbed to pursue competition because they have got to know it's illegitimate and unfair.

Until when are we going to ignore the endocrinology of athletes who go through the sexual maturation phase before transitioning and, with this lack of scientific rigor, undermine transparency and competitiveness in women's competitive sport?
This is bad for the sport overall and horrible both for this athlete who deserves to be able to express her talent on the competitive stage and for those who see their career and results harmed by the lack of productive discussion on this issue.
To renegate this discussion solely to the transphobia narrative is to relegate these athletes to constant scrutiny and discrimination and I don't think that's fair for anyone involved.

The problem here is not gender, it's sport legislation - or lack there of - not being up to date and the discussion being undermined by either bigots or post-modernist "wokes".

A trans woman has real advantages over a bio woman. Transphobia, being 'woke,' et cetera, has nothing to do with it. It is physics and biology which make the difference!

what everyone referring to in this thread as a "trans woman" isnt really a woman at all. The person is male. The person also decided to mutilate their own body and introduce drugs into their body. Just because the person performing the mutilation probably went to medical school, it doesnt mean it has some magic ability to change biology. I dont know at what point in history people started getting so dillusional that fantasy became widely accepted as fact.

Well, yes, she is. She is a trans woman. Not a biological woman.
There's a difference, it's not that hard to grasp.
