Transferring filtered gear into vials.

How do u guys transfer filtered gear into vials? I know some people have media bottle cap with rubber stooper on there so they use syringe, but I don't have a media bottle with the stopper is there another way? Will the air contaminated it without stopper?

Technically to be sterile you have to transfer the filtered oil solution into the sterile vial in a clean room. But I doubt you have one, so wear sterile gloves, a face mask, hair net, then do your best to go right from the recieving vessel into the sterile vial.

I personally do not trust myself to produce a clean sterile vial then cap it after filling it and have the whole thing go smoothly. I use pre sealed and sterilized vials. I use a 10cc syringe to transfer and fill the finished vials. I know every vial gets almost 11 CC's.

Really sterilizing the vials is not to hard, just clean them then bake them in the oven. It's making sure no dust particles make it into the vial before the oil then stopped gets installed that worries me. I live in the southwest and we still get dust storms here.

Big syringe. Suck up lot of oil, fill uncapped vials one by one. Yes, the vials will be filled with living room air. But this will eventually be the case for any used vial, so I don't see the problem. Especially considering users backfill a week's worth of slin pins at a time. The air is not toxic. That's my take, but I'm open to be proven wrong.

I use a 10ml glass pippette, have fillled hundreds of vials this way with no problems whatsoever in the last 7 years since i started brewing

You should still be okay provided you have enough BA in there. However sterile doesn't mean free of contaminates or particles. Maybe a HEPA filter would be a good move for your living room, I use the laundry room because it doesn't have carpet and I can spray sterilize all surfaces.
Just watch for floating particulate in the air as you fill and cap.....still wear a breathing filter and wear sterile gloves.
