Agreed, I hate lateral raises. My shoulders make a lot of disturbing popping noises. When I do the same motion with cables it feels a lot more natural and my shoulders thank me

Pretty basic stuff. I do and have always disliked laterals as they irritate my calcium deposits in the shoulders. Rears don't bother me it's the medial delt that's the issue. Too bad cuz there are not too many ways to hit the side shoulder. So they must be done.
Plate shrugs are still the best trap builder I use. Thanks demon. Been using em ever since. I love cake!
Hoping for an early friday. Cuz I'm whipped. Need the time off to recuperate and do anything but work.
Cables work better for you ?Agreed, I hate lateral raises. My shoulders make a lot of disturbing popping noises. When I do the same motion with cables it feels a lot more natural and my shoulders thank me

I should use cables for laterals more often and today I will do just that. Thanks for sharing that.Yes a lot better. i can go a lot heavier and stay in perfect form with cables to. Makes for a better pump

I hear you on that and at my own age I got enough aches and pains lolI like to claim a good adjustable cable machine and do both lateral and front raises on it. i also bring me a seat over to the smith machine to do my shoulder presses. It's hell getting old.i try to make it easier but get the same experience
Ok ok I'm on whey![]()

I thought the same thing but I can get a Better pump shrugging 45 lb plates for sets of 50 then 405 or 500 on a straight bar. I usually just superset them bothDont forget the creatine, everyone knows that creatine explains everything..lol
Comment; I just noticed youre incorporating 45lb plates for shrugs. I never really gave this much attention simply because ive been in the camp that the weight is way too light, (except warm up perhaps) particularly since i typically use the straight bar with upwards of 315lb plus - which is not a ton of weight, considering. I may have to explore this further and really give it a try.
Keep rockin it, brother!
X2 on the cables.![]()
Ya the freemotion we got one. I use it occasionally when I want to do cable flyes and be the center piece of the room. It's like HEY LOOK AT METhis is what I use for shoulders. I believe it's called a cable step up machine or something very close. Most gyms have them. It's perfect because of the position of the cables. . I use the step to lay all my shit on it ( cell and water jug)

Keeping that perfect angle, full contraction and ROM, and big held squeeze at the top.I took the plate shrugs from DD. And they work!!! I think people get too carried away with weight. IT'S NOT FUCKING POWERLIFTINGthe key is full contraction. It's very very uncomfortable when done correctly. And I've never accomplished more than 20 in a set and they keep growing
I use the cable crossover machine, one shoulder at a time. I alternate days with front and rear raises.
Hey Odie, did you give your doc your number after she fondled your guns? lol
Yep got that same machine at my gym too and also it is in the center of the floor. Gotta love itYa the freemotion we got one. I use it occasionally when I want to do cable flyes and be the center piece of the room. It's like HEY LOOK AT ME
