Trump doesn’t seem to understand the illegal part of this. The only real response to this is to ask how dumb does the President think we are.

Except they didn't in the way he is suggesting. Cohen paid Daniels first via a shell corporation and using fraudulent HELOC funds. Then Cohen was reimbursed via Trump Org far in excess of the $130K as part of a "retainer agreement".

To be clear, Trump just confessed that he acted in his *personal capacity* to aid in the commission of the crime to which Michael Cohen confessed to yesterday, and to which a federal judge agreed with prosecutors that the confessed action was in fact a crime by Cohen.
