Trump Timeline ... Trumpocalypse

"There's no way that me nor many, many, many, many others would ever recognize this last election," said Couy Griffin, a county commissioner in New Mexico who founded a group called Cowboys for Trump. Griffin is one of several Trump supporters featured in the new CBSN documentary "Hindsight Is 2020: An Unprecedented Election."

"I will never accept a Biden presidency," he said.

When asked who would be standing on the steps of the Capitol for the inauguration, Griffin replied, "I don't know. Your guess is as good as mine." (Griffin, who live-streamed himself standing on those same steps during the January 6 riot, is now under arrest for entering the restricted area.)

After months of lies and conspiracy theories about the voting results, it's clear that Mr. Trump's false narrative about a stolen election has stuck with a core group of his voters. And even the sight of Mr. Biden being sworn in won't change their minds.

(CNN) In a new criminal court case against a woman alleged to have entered the US Capitol on January 6, the FBI noted that a tipster raised the possibility of a laptop being stolen from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office to potentially sell to Russia.

There's no indication a laptop was actually taken from Pelosi's office. And the FBI says in the court record the "matter remains under investigation."
It's one of the more bizarre details to emerge in the avalanche of court filings against people accused of storming the Capitol.

In this case, a person who said they are the former romantic partner of Riley June Williams of Pennsylvania identified Williams to the FBI in video inside the Capitol building and directing people "upstairs" to Pelosi's office, according to an affidavit filed Sunday supporting Williams' arrest.

The tipster "also claimed to have spoken to friends of Williams, who showed (the tipster) a video of Williams taking a laptop computer or hard drive from Speaker Pelosi's office," the affidavit says. The tipster "stated that Williams intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service."

The person told the FBI the "transfer of the computer device to Russia fell through for unknown reasons and Williams still has the computer device or destroyed it," the affidavit says.

On the other side of Donald Trump’s turbulent presidency, the lawyers are waiting.

Leaving aside his Senate impeachment trial, mounting government investigations include a civil probe by New York Attorney General Letitia James, a criminal probe by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., and https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/federal-investigation-capitol-riot-trump/2021/01/07/178d71ac-512c-11eb-83e3-322644d82356_story.html?itid=lk_inline_manual_3 (a federal probe) by acting U.S. Attorney for D.C. Michael Sherwin that may include Trump’s role in the catastrophic storming of the U.S. Capitol this month.

But already pending for the soon-to-be South Florida retiree is a trio of lawsuits that allege defamation, fraud and more fraud — all of which are helmed by one attorney.
