Trying to build chest with shoulder injury!

Mine injury wasn't a bone spur but I know a thing or two about shoulder injuries. 2 years ago I partially tore my right rotator cuff which took four months of physio and in that four months I couldn't work my chest at all. It wouldn't have been torn if I listened to my body and took care of it when I felt pain the first time.

This year I fucked up my left rotator cuff but since it wasn't torn I could do fly's and cable crossovers pain free, anything pushing was a no go. That took two months of physio to heal up. I have insurance so it didn't cost me anything but physio is a great surgery free way to fix your shoulder if it's the tendon and is pretty much mandatory IMO for any should injury.

Personally I now stay away from dips and dumbell fly's because they always felt bad but since they worked so well I just sucked it up, learned my lesson now.

Good luck youll see. Our definition of recovered is a complete 180 of what their definition is. Bone aside they cut though alot of soft tisdue to get there

I wish I had talked to some guys like you, pre-surgery. Even my PT was pretty useless.. all they care about is you getting ROM back, and not getting hurt in the process. They could give a fuck if we're back slamming iron around, so they give you a really false sense of what "back to normal" is.

I had no choice, but surgery, but the good news is that shoulder is a lot better than my other. I think if I can avoid fucking it up again, it will be super solid for a long time.. At the same time, if you need the surgery, get it behind you, and I can't stress how important it is to research and find the best surgeon you can. Don't just go to whoever your insurance or primary wants you to. Talk to people and read as many reviews as you can. I know a guy that has had 6 surgeries from just going to whatever ortho clinic was biggest, in town. You want the best, to get back as quickly as possible.
