Turmeric/Milk Thistle For Lowering Hematocrit/Hemoglobin

So about a year ago i had some pretty high ferritin, and iron from some inflammation issues, i was recommended turmeric, for the inflammation and milk thistle for some liver support, a few months of this and surprisingly my iron and ferrtin were substantially lower and my hematocrit/hemoglobin were great .

Never really thought of this untill I started doing some research on hemochromatosis etc and ways to lower your iron, and i came across a page, this was months ago now but it talked about how high dosages of turmeric combined with milk thistle work extremely well for lowering iron and ferrtin, right around the 1500-2000mg range for both.

What i found was that people were actually getting iron deficiency from taking these too long. Its said about 2 months is all you would wanna take this for at that dosage.

I haven't taken these for months
So now i notice my hematocrit/hemoglobin is climbing a bit pretty much top of the range, and iron and ferrtin are just a touch too high my np says so im going to go back on turmeric and milk thistle for a few more months and monitor my hematocrit/hemoglobin and see if it comes back down.

Basically how this works is turmeric/milk thistle help to unbind the iron and make it more usable.

Anyway just wanna share this and if others wanna jump on this and give it a try, then check back hear and let us no how you made out.

Never no might be a better way to manage then relying on donations?

Very interesting to hear. I hadn't heard about this but it could make sense.

I've always taken Milk Thistle while on cycle for liver support (and I've seen my liver values stay very low even with orals while on it). I've also noticed that on cycle my hematocrit and hemoglobin both are lower than when I'm just on TRT and haven't been able to figure it out.

This gives me something to look into so thanks for sharing.

No prob, again i believe you have to run the higher dosages like 1500mg for both as i recall. Indo remember thats around the dosages i ran awhile back, but i never realized it had that effect so im going to re try and pay more attention. Lol

This was on 1G a day.

It goes up after the cycle stops on normal TRT doses. In general it should go up a bit on cycle but last time I was on 1200mg of total gear and both values were the lowest I'd ever seen them.

Donations are not just a crit thing. If you are taking hormones change your oil. I had similar experiences with turmeric - high crit went to low crit, but I still started getting headaches at the 3 month mark even with normal range hemocrit and trt doses… and forget about upping a dose 2 months from a donation even though hemocrit was low normal- something still made me feel like crap until I donated. Just my experiences, but donations have been key over the years.

The average lifespan of red blood cells is around 120 days, and then i believe we shit them out lol at least thats what the doctor said lol.

So i mean in that way our own body is changing our oil for us, the difference is heavy cycles and too much testosterone, thickens the blood and raises hematocrit/hemoglobin faster then we can basically rid them, so i can see guys wanting to donate, i haven't donated ever in 2 years and i haven't came off, so im thinking there is a way with high doses of turmeric/milk thistle to basically keep up with that production and give our own body a chance to rid them. And keep safe levels of rbc etc.

I guess its a theory.

Did you happen to get blood work done to look at your iron/ferrtin?

Also did you use 1500mg turmeric and 1500 milk thistle?

Nope. I loathe the doctor’s office and just listen to my body. While that approach may kill me one day, I donate and I feel better, so I donate.

Really appreciate this piece of info, Harley.

I pass out giving blood so the red cross doesn't like seeing me lol. I'm definitely going to give this a try on my next blast when I pull bloods

I told the nurse I might look like a shaved bear but I am a tremendous pussy

At least she laughed, she was hot as fuck

How bad is this? Numbers were green after donation on 200 trt testosterone. Then came back like this on 400 test for 9.5 weeks.

Yup thats high, are you still on that amount, lowering your dosage for a few months to 120mg a week will lower that back in range.

You look dehydrated.

Be a good experiment, take 1500mg of turmeric and 1500 of milk thistle a day for a month see if it brings those numbers down i bet it would

I don't donate, but i do huge ass amounts of blood work, and i get dizzy at the end if im fasted.

One trick iv learned is carb up and eat a big meal 1 hr before blood work this definitely works!!! @Skarpyona
