Ufc

yeah OK i know i've seen the K-1. I didn't remember the ref standing them up,but i remembered they fought on their feet alot. Shamrock is coming back, and i can't wait to see him get a beatin.

Which Shamrock? Ken has already been destroyed by Tito, so I don't see him being all too quick to come back unless his drug problems have cost him all his money again.

Frank fought about 6 months ago and destroyed a guy. Then again, Bryan Pardoe sucks monkey nuts. He's probably a little too old and past his prime to really do any damage inthe UFC anymore, but he might be able to take some of the younger guys.

Ken has been saying he was coming back, and now he finally is. I don't like either one. They are both not bad fighters, but i believe Frank is a better grappler. I got ken's autograph on a napkin at a club. I think i threw it away, because i don't know where it is :-) O no,i really wanted to put it in a frame, too.

you guys remember Oleg Taktarov? He was a pretty tuff little bastard that would'nt give up.He would get the shit beat out of him and just keep going. What about Dan Severn? He was pretty tuff, even though he looks like he is out of shape. The UFC has evolved a long way, but I wish they still had no weight divisions or time limits.Did anyone hear how Corture's eye is doing?Hope no permanent damage.

Oleg was great at Sambo. Even though he beat Tank,he needed oxygen after the fight and Tank got up and walk right out of the ring. Oleg just would never give up and he was always covered in blood after his fights :-) Dan was great too,in the old UFC,but since he hasn't been fighting in UFC type of comps,i don't believe he has learned anything but Greco-Roman,so he would never last in the new UFC. He threw Shamrock around in a Superfight. O yeah,i saw Oleg in a few movies :-) I didn't see his name in the credits, but i know it was him. I liked that guy,he was cool.

Ok, you really need to pay more attention to the world of MMA if you're going to speak so much about it. Number one, Tank Abbott did, does and always will suck very badly. Number two, Dan Severn hasn't stopped fighting EVER! He fights AT LEAST once a month. He's fought well over 100 times, so what the fuck are you talking about?

if you watched the pride fight tonight, you know damn well and good why ufc ppv sucks. there were no bullshit joe rogan commentaries or drama interviews, just 3 hours of fighting. god bless the japs for attracting top talent and knowing how to produce an event.

The PRIDE PPV was great. However, I dont understand why fighters like Dos Caras Jr. are able to get such a great opportunity, yet suck so much. If I were Grizzly, and I saw that kind of talent getting breaks, I would be pissed.

Your friend,

Mark

P.S. Mark Kerr (the real one) is such a class act. Even though he is past his prime, he is still a great representative for MMA.

Yeah, what the fuck is the Dos Caras Jr. deal? There's a lot of guys who get big breaks. Shannon Ritch fought in Pride...what? His little buddy, who also sucks serious ass after the first minute when his overly juiced up body gasses out, Bryan Pardoe has been getting some major breaks, too.

In the world of MMA, it's very much who you know and where you are at a certain time. I'm lucky to have gotten the breaks I have by being introduced into the sport by my old roomate who had been on the circuit for 2 years and 25 or so fights.

My first fight got me my second fight which got me my third fight. Having fought for Monte Cox on my second fight got me a call from Monte when he was out a fighter which got me the sixth fight and so on and so on.

Managers can also be a big part of the game. Obviously, Dos Caras has a good manager or something. I know after my last fight, a guy heavily involved in the MMA scene asked me if I ever thought of being in the UFC. Duh! Either way, he's like, man, you should sign with Monte, he'll do you right. That is kind of how it works, I suppose. One day, maybe I will sign with Monte, but we'll see what happens in the next year.

I think Dos Caras got his breaks because he is Marco Ruas's student and he was on the Mexican Olympic Wrestling team. However, you would think they would put him in a low-level fight instead of putting him in the same ring with Mirko. That was just plain demented.

They do the same thing with Yoshida's students. They just put them in the ring, which means I get to watch another fight go to decision.

Your friend,

Mark

Yeah, it was his first fight in PRIDE. It was at PRIDE Bushido. It was like a 1 min fight. The first kick Mirko even attempted and it knocked him clean out!

Fuck yeah, I've thought about them! If everything works out for me, I should be in the UFC within 18 months. It all depends on my ability to keep up training after I move.

I don't fight for any one organization. Basically, prior to being signed by the UFC or Pride, you fight for whoever will have you.

cool bro, goodluck and i hope it all works out for you ...

Interesting.. so Tank is a good fighter now?, wow..

Oh wait, did i also hear that Vitor is a bad fighter?, oh boy..

Grizz, Hogg, how's it going?

As you can see,i only watch UFC,so i'm gonna take a back seat to this discussion :-) I've been watching UFC,since the 1st one,and that's really all i've watched, when it comes to this type of fighting.i believe i saw K-1 once or parts of it. Let me know when some good fights are on TV,i would like to watch them.

What channel does Pride come on and when?

Pride Inferno aired Sunday night at 5:30PM pst on InDemand and most other PPV providers. You should be able to order a replay of the fights for the next couple of weeks.
