BUMP for Super Mod, Hogg! 
Out of all the 5000+ Meso members, I consider Hogg to be one of the top 3 wisest (maybe THE top) contributors to this board. Not only is he well versed in the areas of his own job, but also in finance/investing, AAS and lifting, and overall life in general. I consider him to be a good friend and someday hope to have the chance to share some sushi with him.

Hey Fellas, I am sorry this thread turned out the way it did and About the remarks about the mods. I started working at Home Depot as you can tell definitely not for the money but I wanted to piss my parents off because I don't want anything handed to me in life. I wanted to earn my own ways and not depend on them or to pay for an education for me. I moved up so fast and at 23 making 78,000 as a store manager , seemed pretty good for me. I mean what other 23 year old runs a 52million dollar a year business(that was my annual sales)and my 65% bonus on top of that base salary with 2500 options every year. After I was fired Best Buy offered me 110,000K a year to start and I bonus monthly and only have put in a 40 hr work week. So I took the job after a one year vacation away from retail....I really was going back to school but could'nt refuse that offer, you know I am getting old. I'll be 26 in August.lol
Recently I was asked to help out with the family business because of growth, thats the only reason I went back. I figured I proved I earned my own way in life although a hard one....

James, I have to say this much, your picture is much different than what I could discern from your initial post. Obviously, you have many different avenues other than just trying to get a job without a college education. You were fortunate to attain such a position with HD. Typically, most people your age do not get that kind of opportunity without an education. In the same token, you realize that without an education, if you want to make that kind of money, you will be required to put in hellifying hours. I'm not saying that others who make that kind of money do not have to put in the hours, hell, I've worked a couple days straight a few times, but typically, education affords you the luxury of making that kind of jing without having to bleed for it. Ultimately, it is our standard of living, being able to enjoy life, that counts.
The thread really did not turn out that bad. Hey, I did not understand your entire picture and for that, I apologize, but bear in mind, I try, no, I make it my charge, to reach out to the 20-24 year old kid who does not have a paved road ahead of him and try to put him on a path that will lead to a prosperous life 99% of the time. And as I mentioned in my initial post, it is out of compassion that I offer my guidance to people. Hell, I remember what 24 was like, I remember what 26 was like, and at that time, I had friends who were not on the same path that I was on....and they are suffering as a result of it.
My step brother entered UCSD when he was 21. He was in school for 12 years and he is now some type of facial reconstruction specialist who makes a lot of money. Had he continued bouncing at night and framing houses by day, he would be in the same boat that he was in 13 years ago.....so obviously, seeing all of this, it is my charge to reach out to people whom I suspect to be in a similar dilemna. I hope you can understand my initial position in this matter. As I said, it was out of compassion, I would not bother to beat my fingers against the keyboard if I didnt care. Fortunately, in this case, you have other avenues.

Brother, guys like Grizzly, DBP, BS, FTW, Manwhore....Christ, I cant begin to remember everybody's names but dont want to leave them out......we all just congregate here and bullshit amongst each other and hopefully walk away from the day with some new piece of intellectual value that benefits us.....we can agree, we can disagree, we can misunderstand each other, we can do all kinds of things....and ultimately, like I said before, at the end of the day, we walk away as better men.
I would hope that no one agrees with me simply because I am a moderator....I know DBP doesnt....he's an old friend like many others.....and I welcome those who disagree with me. Its not a case of kissing hogg's ass...who is hogg anyway? Shit, I mean, like I said, I'm just a kid from humble portuguese roots, and I strive to grow a little bit every day.
This thread has made me really think about a lot of things. As BS and MR are aware, I'm really interested in econ and finance.....and 10 years ago, I use to chastise business majors as being pussies who couldnt slug out a hard science degree....we grow....and I realize that I could use some of that stuff that they learned....even if it does not require nth order calculus to figure out.....so I'm thinking I need to find a good adult re-entry program that will allow me to live the college experience once again. But the funny thing is....I'm at apoint where i expect to be treated like a customer rather than cannon fodder......(sigh) ...guess I need to look into Keller and fork over the cash

Long story on how I fell in love with her. I watched "I Still Know What you Did Last Summer" back in '99 I believe on opening night and the movie theater was packed. I saw it with my GF at the time and several of my male friends.
The part in the movie where Jennifer takes off her clothes, as she is about to get in the tanning bed and strips down to her bikini................dude it was fucking HILARIOUS!!! Right when it showed her in her bikini, at the EXACT SAME MOMENT, I kid you not like 75% of all the guys in attendance immediately groaned in unison "Oh my God"!! It was honest to God the funniest thing I have ever been witness to in my entire life. Probably 250 men, at exactly the same moment, all groaned "Oh my God!!" Unfortunately, I also groaned "Oh my God" too. My GF was PISSED. I mean after the movie she chewed me out....."Why were you moaning when jennifer stripped down into her bikini??" she asked me.
I just said, "Sweetheart, you know you are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on. You are way more beautiful than JLHewitt".

Oh man oh man I do remember that night. After the movie, we all went over to her friend's house and tore up God knows how many bottles of Jim Beam. I don't even like Jim Beam, I am a Jack man. But wow did it taste good that night. Isn't it funny how some things that happened like 2 weeks ago, you forget?? But other things, like the time 5 years ago when you got sloshed with your buddies.............you hang on to that for years and years??
