Update on statins

Yes looks like you may have insulin resistance.

What's your insulin level fasted and hbA1c?

Usually I skip the insulin test and do the igf1 just out of curiosity not sure if it will be relevant for this matter.
Those are two completely different test with completely different applications. You need insulin level with BG level to calculate HOMA-IR

I know that the thing is I always check my bg therefore I know my numbers never had a reason to do an insulin test my triglycerides are high due to my fat intake see below my triglycerides when I’m off the carnivore diet

BG numbers means almost nothing, you could be insulin resistant with a normal BG.

But you are 99% fine with that HbA1c.
Always test your insulin level together with your BG

This thread is more towards lipids but yeah you are right can only say that I know how I feel when bg is below 50 and above 150.. my “pancake” is working fine punished me only one time when I stopped an insulin cycle and didn’t lower my carb intake oh boy still remember that day .. biggest panic of my life lol
The only organ in my body that started causing me issues out of the blue is my thyroid for some reason that’s another story I guess I will be opening a topic for that also other than that I think even if a person has insulin resistance going carnivore will only do good regarding that matter.

You fix your insulin resistance going carnivore xD it's an ultra low carb I guess or keto diet right? So yeah you reverse it pretty good.

Yep 0 carbs high fat high protein diet
Again I never had insulin resistance but for people who have issues with their pancake such diet can help
For bodybuilding purposes it’s shit diet no growth only shreds you and maximize muscle density other than that no anabolic growth even with high igf1 numbers no growth unfortunately.

There are other ways to fix insulin sensitivity than going keto or carnivore. Even a carb cycling with all the help of GDA's and GLP's will do the trick without hindering growth.

On the other hand, going keto for a month or two on a cruise i don't think it's gonna stop you from progressing, but for the guys seeking muscle growth and they re all year round on keto or very low carb, i think it's counterproductive.

I'd like some insight into my situation as it's pretty confusing.

I always had an LDL of 140-160 (all my life, regardless of diet or AAS), so I finally built up the courage to pick up a statin (Rosuvastatin) and decided to start low with a measly dose of 2.5mg, given that it's already too strong etc.

Pre-statin LDL: 155
4 weeks post Rusovastatin (generic 5mgs cut into halves)) at 2.5mg ED: 170! Trigs also up another 10 points (always below 60 for me, now nearing 70)
It added like 10 points to my HDL (now 71)

Liver values only a few points out of range. What the hell happened? Diet has stayed the same or even gotten better.

If it makes a difference, I was on Citrus Bergamot and I dropped it the day I added the statin, but it wasn't doing much at all at that point.

I'm currently on (as I was during the pre test): 500mg test, 8iu HGH, 2.5mg Tirz.

Hey
Don’t think it has anything to do with the statin
Also with hgh I personally noticed at certain dosages it raises cholesterol and in some lowers it
Would recommend upping your statin dose to 5mg and adding 5mg ezitimbe and redoing bloods.

I am just spit balling here but the oral bioavailability of Rosuvastatin is only 20%. You started at a lower than recommended dose while also cutting your Citrus Bergamot. I looked at some studies on Citrus Bergamot and it’s pretty effective in reducing total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides. “The bergamot polyphenol fraction decreased total cholesterol from 262 to 196, LDL cholesterol from 175 to 116, and triglycerides from 252 to 170”. Maybe you were benefitting more from Citrus Bergamot than you thought and you aren’t taking a high enough dose of Rosuvastatin to offset dropping it. I’d either add it back and retest in 4 weeks or increase Rosuvastatin to 5 or 10mg and retest in 4 weeks.

In your situation I would start going more aggressive 5mg rosu and 10mg ezetimibe as a minimum. Then retest in a month and see how it goes if it's not enough add bempoic acid
