Update on statins

I'll go from 3x30 min cardio a week to 180 min a week. My diet is fairly good already anyway.

I'll report back.
Has anyone in good faith actually seen cardio and diet affect LDL levels? Outside of going from 300 pounds to 180 or something. I'm talking about an already relatively fit man who exercises regularly and eats a diet relatively low in saturated fats. I cannot say that I honestly believe it makes much difference and most of this is genetics and AAS induced in the already active populations.

The most hilarious "plan of action" I got for years and years from my PCP walking around with 150 LDL levels building a 175 CAC score was to "eat more leafy green vegetables and walking for 30 minutes per day". Hello bruh I do 25000 steps a day, 3 cardio sessions weekly, resistance train 5 days a week and eat 4-6 servings of vegetables a day. I'm not eating pizza and ice cream 3x a day.

Then again there are entire forums devoted to athletes who never touched AAS who have crazy CAC scores due to insane weekly MET hours. So who the F knows.

No. I agree with you.

But dropping from 205 to 165 lowered my LDL. I did not change what I ate (obviously I changed the amount) and I personally think vegetables are for rabbits or vegan hipsters.

Yes, some, but it scales with the state of fitness before and after the intervention.

Someone relatively fit with a decent diet won't see much improvement. Regardless, most Americans aren't relatively fit. "10k steps" is actually a fitness goal for many.

I was natty from 2010 to 2020. During that time I went on a fasting diet once only eating OMAD or doing 16:8. I dropped from 175 to 144 pounds and was measured at 6.7 percent BF. My LDL was 152. Same as it roughly is now pre Lipitor at 190 pounds on 20mg of test per day.

Funny thing I went to a wedding and the guy who sat next to me worked in the Cath Lab. Said he sees a lot of bodybuilders coming in in their 40s. Nearly full blockages LAD.

If this doesn't scare the sh*t out of guys on this board who think they aren't getting gyno or hair loss that they have "no side effects" I don't know what will. One positive he said is that many guys with blockages tend to form other pathways to keep supply going.

I've really come to believe that ASCVD is BY FAR the biggest risk w/AAS abuse and one doesn't know it until it's really too late and the calcification shows on a test.
Just run the carotid IMT year over year, you don't need to wait for calcification.

I had a stress test done today which was normal outside of a few PVCs... one back to back so he wants me to wear a holter to.make sure they are going crazy when I'm exercising. Also have a carotid ultrasound test scheduled for next month.

I also work in a cath lab and I have seen a grand total of 1 bodybuilder come through in 9 years. Genetics is the number one factor we see for heart disease. You'll see a marathon runner with bad family history of heart disease come in and need stents, then a 400 lb lady that has never exercised a day in her life but has no family history of heart disease have perfectly clean arteries.

Has anyone else tried TelyRx? Would Amazon accept a refill request with the original script from them?

I had this done this mng and both are completely clean. Dr Touliatos IIRC has mentioned that he has calcification in the carotid but none in the heart. So if I only had this test done and never had a CACS test done I'd assume I had completely clean arteries yet I have calcification in my LAD.

I’ve used TelyRX 3 times in the last 4 weeks. But I’m not sure if Amazon will honor a prescription from them. I bet Sesame Care will though. If the Telehealth doc sees the prescription bottle they will likely refill it.

I'd like to give my 2 cents on statins after my latest labs.

I started with daily ezetimibe exactly one year ago, after 5 months it did improve my lipids enough although i was in a calorie deficit and lost 30lbs but on the other hand i was on primo and anavar which mess lipids so i'd call this a win.

So, in July immediately after my cutting cycle with all the pros and cons mentioned above my total Cholesterol was 156, Triglycerides 66, HDL 30 and LDL 113.

After 6 weeks of crusing and eating in maintenance i started an off season cycle which halfway i ramped quite high caloric intake for the first time, like 4800kcal.

Along with the off season i started taking Rosuvostatin, 2,5mg twice a week and reduced ezetimibe to 5mg per day instead of 10. I rode that cycle and plan until mid December and after gaining about 27lbs i went back to cruise until February 15.

In that cruise phase my calorie intake remained kinda high like 4200 and because i was quite stressed with having to change job, moving to a new town etc i had more frequent cheat meals like 2-3 times a week instead of 1 because eating keeps me mentally sane.

Anyway, my labs from last week came out pretty good, i'd say impressive for me given all that food plus more frequent high fat cheat meals of the past 2 months. Total cholesterol 135, Triglycerides 47, HDL 45, LDL 72 and Lp-A 5,3. I asked for ApoB but young lady in the lab probably didn't catch it.

TLDR microdosing rosuvostatin can help a lot improving lipids along with ezetimibe. Personally i'm impressed with the outcome. Sorry for the long read but i wanted to share enough details to help understanding my case.

Do you cut the ezetimibe in half? I can't find any 5mg here in Italy..only 10mg.

Funny thing is that it's "expensive" to buy rosu and ezetimibe separately but it's cheap as fuck to buy the combo together. Too bad the combo together doesn't allow to do twice a week rosu and eze everyday

Exactly, it's effing annoying.. I payed 9 euro for a box of rosuvostatin that got me through for 30 weeks (one 5mg tab per week split in half) while ezetimibe costs 18 euro for 30 tabs.

First couple months i was splitting it in half but then i got bored and since then i'm taking 10mg eod. I haven't seen anywhere less or more than 10mg tabs too.

Same damn it.

Rosu/eze combo 5/10 cost : 8 euro

Rosu 5mg alone 8 euro
Eze 10mg alone 20+ euro

I wonder what would it be the effect in taking the rosu/eze cut it in half and take one three times a week max.

I'm not sure if it's advisable to cut combo pills in half tho

Damn, 8 eu for the combo? Here it's 23 eu for the 5/10 so it doesn't worth it. Splitting combo pills it's not advisable and i'd avoid it if we talked about once a week dosage, for 3 times a week i don't think it will be an issue. One day more one day less from every compound it's not a big deal.

Yeah the combo cost 8 euro OR 0 if I get a prescription xD

I'll probably go with pravastatin if I had to choose, as I have already excellent cholesterol and I would probably take it only on blast and it's the one that doesn't effect insulin resistance at all, it even improve insulin sensitivity

first time I see my hdl that high I was actually surprised especially after masteron and while still on tren..

This opens a door for more tests with supplements etc maybe higher dosage of ezitmbe or higher statin dosage etc ..
