gotta question about this. what happens to these guys that flee? like the ones during vietnam for example, i know they were eventually given amistey, but before that, they are just excepted into socitey? get temp citizenship or permanant? what do canadians think of them? they have problems gettin hired? just wondering.

HOLY SHIT!!!!.......i just stumbled onto a forum that deals with mainly politics and current events and mostly just bashing America and our government. I am reading the threads specifically about Canada welcoming those two little bitches.

I am registered there now as AirBorne. If you like to get fired up, you should def go read some of that shit. You will NOT believe some of it. If you think that Canadian Hinzman lady was bad, you wont be able to stomach some of these peoples opinions.

They are jealous of the greatest country in the world....their all jealous....Its funny rember the scare of Japan kicking our economic ass...they are now just rebounding from a 10 year recession....now its out sourcing of jobs....watch we will figure a way to make it work.....people think there are a lot of regulations in this country......The us has the least for industrialized countries....except china.....I mean regulations to start a business....Go to India....it will take u years....u know how long it takes u in the us??? half an hour....having a lawyer complete ur LLC, or INC or what ever u want.

I'm Canadian, I really can't say what canadians think of deserters for the most part. I think we just don't care what they do really. especially when it came to things like the Iraq war and Vietnam war, because I think most canadians didn't agree with either of them. I myself wouyld not say I'm anti-war, but I think the war in Iraq was terrible and was not needed, i know people belive the other way and that saddam was important to go but at what cost? was he that dangerous that over 700 US soilders had to die, tens of thousands of iraqis, and billions of dollars? I think not. That bitch should keep her mouth shut though, don't get involved in another countries affairs. I always thought if i was a US citazen I would be more towards a republican, but I dont have to agree with everything they do. Also, I don't know if its your news in the US or not but CNN is truly biased. I heard some terrible things that the US soildiers have done to iraqis, i know this is not the majority obviously but im just saying that for the most part it doesnt get covered.

I agree. Soldiers that desert are traitors period, especially since they voluntarily sign up. The morality of the war is in question, but it is not entirely "wrong" nor right. I am a pacifist by nature, but understand that everybody does not share my view...if they did war would not be needed. Therefore, since everybody doesn't feel the way I do, war is pretty much always going to happen. Sad but true~Sensational

Bro, thats cool. Which country were you from. I have always wanted to go to Eastern Europe. I spent a little time in Bosnia, but that really doesn't cont. I want to do a travel study over there sometime. I am sure it is much different when you are there because you wanted to be instead of because you were told to be.
