Having worked in the profession I can assure you it is about one thing and only one thing....Money.
The profession paints itself as compassionate and even many workers believe that is there role and they wake up believing this nonsense everyday, but every once in awhile you meet someone honest and they'll flat out state....I'm here for the money.
We already know what produces good health, we've had thousands of years to figure this out. Even the ancients could observe different practices that produced or improved health or caused problems.
It has always been exercise, eating healthy natural foods, eating moderately with regular fasting. Clean drinking water. Clean air(we saw a lot of people die young during the industrial revolution because of filthy working conditions) Keeping your waist size small. Stimulating your intellectual capacity. Using your head to stay out of trouble and avoid accidents. Avoiding too much stress. It's that simple, you follow those guidelines and most people will never need healthcare in their entire lives until they are close to a natural death from age.
One of my family members did my genealogy on my mothers side of the family and I was amazed at how long they lived back in the 1700's and 1800's, they were all German and English dirt farmers, they didn't have much money, but I suspect they had natural food, hard physical work, lower stress(because they didn't work in factories that caused many people to die in their 30's), decent quality drinking water and the women ended up living to their late 80's and men into their early 80's. This is a longer lifespan then we see today. And there wasn't any fancy healthcare back in those days.
So it is a fallacy that healthcare keeps you alive, for most people it's really a place to help people overcome poor lifestyle choices.
