Vacuum Filtration Problem

Hi guys, i'm trying my first homebrew...

I have a problem with vacuum filter, its leaking oil in the junctions as you can see in the picture below.

I bought two filters in different places and both with the same problem

I'm not using vacuum pump.

Can someone help me?

Thx

Did you get the sterile one use throw away whatmans or like a glass filter with papers? I don't have any experience homebrewing yet but if you went with option 2 then maybe the problem is trying too much your first time?

Nothing is missing...

The leak occurs exactly at this point in the photo below:

Gotcha. Can't actually answer the question without being hypothetical. Wish I could have helped dude. Someone will have an answer for you

Basically it's glass/filter/glass with a rubber around the outside for the clamp? If thats how it is. Bad set up. Glass on glass is not going to make a good seal and your clamp can only be so tight without breaking the glass.

Just like picture below:

How bad is the leak? Is it leaking all the way around or just in one spot? How much suction pressure do you have? Are you using a hand pump or electric pump? Is the glass beveled or are both sides flat? There is alot of needed information in order to help you and maybe you can post an actual photo of your setup.

Make a test run with regualar gso or whatever carrier oil you are using. Put the buchner filter together. (With this type of filter an electric pump will work best vs a hand pump due to the constant pressure.) Check all your suction tubing/fittings to make sure they are not collapsed or leaking. Pour a small amount of carrier oil onto the filter disk in order to soak into filter disk(you may notice some leaking at this point but it should stop after the next step), turn on vacuum pump and add more oil, with the suction going strong it shouldnt be leaking, run your pressure as high as you can without damaging your filter disk.

I'm sounded like he said no pump and letting gravity do it's thing

I bought a hand vacuum pump, delay to arrive so I did not answer before, the filtering was very fast, not leaked as before, leaked a little oil but an insignificant amount, I will continue doing my gears anyway, thank you all for the help.
