Vacuum sealer machine

Good afternoon. Are there any tips for which vacuum sealer machine should I buy? The cheapest for 40 € or something more expensive? What suction force is necessary for the long-term storage of raw materials ?

Get one that has a "snorkel", a little tube so you're not limited to the specialty bags with grooves. You want to be able to use "retort" bags. The smooth, silver bags. Also compare maximum heat sealing thickness (in mil) capacity vs the bags you can find online. Don't worry about "suction" strength, they're all sufficient.

Look for one similar to this, It's a common Chinese copy of a much more expensive professional model, and a bunch of companies seem to be making it.

Should be under €200 from Alibaba, Amazon, etc.

More pricey than what you likely expected to pay, but will long outlast the cheap ones and you'll find endless uses for it. Also, the bags are far cheaper, with a much bigger selection than being restricted to the speciality bags the cheap units require.

In my opinion any decent one will work. Ghouls suggestion is cool but totally not necessary unless you want to use it for something else too.

For sealing some RAWS food vacuum bag and a standard vacuum sealer will work perfectly. Double seal into another sealed bag, grab a simple mylar bag put it inside, close it manually (no need to heat seal it), store it. End of story

I prefer a chamber type vacuum sealer, which doesn’t pull the air from the bag and also doesn’t suck up powder or liquids like I’ve seen happen with a Foodaaver or similar machines, and it doesn’t require special bags. With a chamber sealer, the air is sucked out of the chamber so there’s always a good vacuum and seal as long as the chamber is sealed. Avid Armor is the brand that I use, but there’s various other brands that I’m sure work well too. AliExpress likely has them as well.

That's what I've used for a decade+, though there are now far more affordable options than the $3500 one I bought back then. The "snorkel" type I referenced above allows use of any type bag, while being close to the price of food saver type of machine. The cheapest chamber type's about $350, and the way to go if you can swing it.

Even the cheap food savers can seal smooth mylar bags, just gotta cut a thin piece of bag material and slip it into the top of the bag resting in the seal seam, it allows air to pass similarly to the snorkel setup but works on all sealers. It might just require an extra cycle of the heat seal to fully melt the additional material at the seam

Acid Armor UVS20 is on AliExpress for $229 and there’s a Black Friday coupon that takes another $30 off.

Yeah but unless you use that chamber for other stuff too (lots of cooking etc) it's completely useless for just sealing some RAWS.

Like guys I'm all for wasting money left and right but this one is really throwing money down the drain if you just need to seal some RAWS.

Just looked for other chamber sealers and found this one on AliExpress for $137.46 including tax and delivery. I did not buy it because I have a larger commercial unit from Avid Armor and was just looking to see what the lowest cost chamber sealer ms were going for these days.

For me, I vacuum seal my fresh venison, turkey, pork, beef, fish and other foods I process or grow, so it’s a well used machine and having it for my raws is an additional benefit.
