Vasectomy next week, fellas!

Scheduled my neutering a few months back, and here we are, just days away.

Who’s all been snipped here? Any regrets?

Most importantly, how long did you take off from the gym? I hate missing time. Doc says I need to spend two days horizontal and should take at least a week, possibly two, off from the gym.

I haven't gotten the balls (no pun) to pull the trigger yet . All the guys I know who've had it did take about a week off but seem to bounce back rather quick. The actual procedure seems to be a 50/50 as far as smooth or a horror story.

Haven't been and never will. I'm 43. 3 kids. As said above me I also don't have the "balls" to do it. I know it doesn't but I feel like it would emaculate me. Never happening here. Pull and pray had worked for me for 20 something years so...

My doc told me to not work out for a week at least, but I was back at the gym 2 days later. I modified my routine (no water rower or running to warm up, no leg day) for the next week and was fine.

I think it all depends on how your healing is going. Some guys will see swelling of the scrotum as blood and lymphatic fluid “ooze” out of the incision into the scrotum. In those cases I would say they need to take the week off. In my case there was no swelling, just tenderness.

I have it planned in a year or two. To be honest my wife wants one more but doesn’t know i use gear. Im fine with another but if it happens it happens. If not i don’t want anymore after i reach 36 thats my set date for vasectomy.

Best thing I ever did. Have enough kids, no need for more. Have loads of friends who's done it, seems especially popular among Brits. Got snipped this past November. I was given 600mg ibuprofen and codeine for pain, didn’t use either of them. I was sore for maybe 4-5 days. Doc told me to take a week off from the gym and I’ll be good after that.

My insurance covered general anesthesia so I didn’t go the local route. There’s all stories you read online about libido drops and loss of volume in semen. None of that has been true with me.

Really wanted to go the anesthesia route but they won’t even file for it.

I’m mostly worried about gettin back in the gym too early and fucking something up, I got an incisional hernia from going too hard after my cholecystectomy.

I was prescribed a Valium for mine. If you go that route, I recommend talking with the doc and nurse through it. The distraction helps. The pain was unique but not too bad. And the smell of the cauterizer was a bit unpleasant.

Be aware that you’ll need to give samples at around 2 and 4 months afterwards to confirm that the sperm are I longer in your semen.

It doesn’t quite work like that. Even without a vasectomy you produce more sperm than could ever be used, so your body breaks them down and reabsorbs them. With a vasectomy it just happens with all of them. And it has nothing to do with when you cum. It’s a continuous process.

Did the No Scalpel thing 20 years ago and wished i had done it sooner, As there was no reason not to. The chances of being fully loaded is not worth the risk for me. Less then 5 minutes or the procedure then relax for a day. It was the only time i have gone into a waiting room and seen all the patients waiting giggling. Usually everyone is stoic in the Dr.s office. Now bring the sample into the nurse a few weeks later for testing meant no eye contact. But they seemed used to that.

Nah you’ll be fine. It’s literally a minuscule incision. It’s not like they’re tearing it up and gluing it back together. He said just give it a week to be safe but I easily could’ve went back earlier. I only used the scrotal support for maybe 3-4 days also, it’s really not that bad.

There were no incisions for me. They just poked a hole opened up that stretchy skin pulled a tube out cut it and tired it off then did the same with the other tube, then put then back in. No stitches were needed and there was no pain, discomfort or bleeding.
It was awkward when the Dr. asked if he could bring in another Dr he was training. And she turned out to be a tall slim beautiful woman But he quickly taped my dick to the side of my leg which got it out of the way as i don't think it was going to do anything at the moment. And as he said i was a good boy for being used as a training aid. so he gave me a really nice Victorinox swiss Army Knife. That has The Vasectomy Clinic engraved on it. I carry it in my range bag to the gun range and lend it out to guys that need a screw driver but didn't bring theirs. I love the looks they give me then they wont look at me after that!
