many some of you bro out there can help me understand something.

last night my granny fell and broke her hip.we called the ambulance and about a half hour or so (no longer) they showed up...i followed ambulance to the hospital.when we got to the ER...it was a while until i got to go back...she was lying there in pain...they finally gave her some morphine to ease it...after a while they took her to x-ray and then determined that her hip was broken and nothing else.well about 2am i had to leave, but soon after i left she got her a room.doc's were suppose to do surgery early this morning, but they didnt.now i just called and now they found out that she has internal bleeding, and now the surgery can tbe done.why couldnt those asshole check that last night when she first came in?now we have to wait on internal docs to come look at her.this pisses me beyond all contol, and so help me if something happens to her because of it,ill be going to jail!

im just not aware of the severity of broken hips on elderly people and now in comlination with internal bleeding.
i just pray that she is ok...this women is very important to me and i dont know what i will do if i lose her.

i'm sorry max. i'll pray for your grandma. i lost mine to a broken hip. she broke hip and her life just wasn't the same. she was never able to fully heal so she couldn't work in her garden or go to church, unless someone was around to drive her. she really lost her way of life, got very depressed and died of a broken heart.

This sounds very familiar, my grandmother was sent from the hospital to a rehab place that caters to the elderly, and pretty much taught and forced to learn how to walk again, she did, but over time gave up walking little by little until she didn't do it anymore, so it may be worth your time, energy and love for this lady to keep on her in a positive way and don't let her do like mine did.........I hope everything goes smooth and she has a speedy recovery.....

Maxx, your Grandma is definately in my prayers..... I hope she is doing better by the time you read this..... In all honesty, she sounds like a truly strong woman and will come through this just fine. She is probably giving them hell at the hospital already...... As I said, I wish you and all your family my best now and always......

Grandmother

Maxx, so sorry to hear about your Grandma. I know and believe in FAMILY!
When it comes down to it, this is all we really have. This is who we really are.
She will be in our prayers.

All the best! graybass

sorry about the misfortune Maxx. Hip fractures are very serious in the elderly. Many times this injury causes a downfall that is never recovered from. Keep on top of the treatment she is getting and push her to be active once she recovers. Old people tend to start feeling sorry for themselves and depression sits in once they miss out on their favorite activities for a few weeks. THis is a vicious cycle and barring malpractice, the answer lies in her and her families abiltiy to motivate her. Good luck and take care
