I'm a Republican and I agree completely with you. Assault style weapons will be banned in the near future. Very near. Does that mean criminals won't get them. No. But the public has seen enough of this. And frankly so have I. I'll take my shotgun for home protection everyday of the week over any rifle. And then a handgun after that.
Doubt it. And they shouldnt be.

I figured they would ban domestic pick up trucks. Since apparantly their superior at running ppl down in mass. Easy to find and can cause massive trauma when ran in to a crowd.

I do doubt that we will lose any gun rights during the Trump Administration. But if a liberal gets in there next I think we'll see another assault weapon ban.

There is no practical reason in this day and age to possess an a assault weapon style platform. Who the fuk needs a scoped AR. Or M-4, M-16, AK. You don't. There's no practical purpose for civilians to have them. Except to go to a range and play with their toy. And high capacity mags should go. If you need 20 rounds to hit something you shouldn't be carrying a weapon. Have your handgun, shotgun, hunting rifle. Shit have 20 of each. I just see no need for AR weapon platforms.

The last thing I'll say on this is our once great country is imploding. It pains me to see overpaid pussy NFL players kneeling for what?? Mass shootings every damn week. Racial tensions for what?? Its not silly at all. A slight change of mentality and that 6,000 lb 4x4 becomes possibly the deadliest weapon available. And certainly easiest to obtain.
I could volunteer at a food kitchen and spike the food bins with anthrax. Perhaps we should ban public eateries?
I could mail 30 ppl a day with an explosive UPS package. Perhaps we should ban the mailbox?
I could pack my USMC issue kbar under my shirt and perform well executed attacks on random ppl anywhere. Perhaps we should ban steak knives?
I could replace my boot laces with rip chord and use them as weapons of opportunity against some one or any one during the course of my day. My bet is i could physically decapitate some one with my strength and size. Perhaps we should ban boots to prevent this from becoming a possibility?
I could buy a louisville slugger and get me a driver and play hit and runs with peoples melons just for fun. Perhaps we should ban bats? Hell! Ban baseball!
I could buy a paintball gun and load it with musket balls and shoot people dead easy as pie. Perhaps we should ban paintball guns? Hell, ban any tiny steel ball while your at it!
I could buy a .17 bb gun and hook a big air tank to it and shoot 3000 ft/second. Wont even hear it go off. Perhaps we should ban bb guns?

I could ask to spot you on bench and decide im just going to punch you in the windpipe rendering you physically impossible to breathe and then beat his head in with a 45 lb plate. Perhaps we should ban spotters? Barbells? Plates?...Gyms?
What do all these have in common?

You know what else is human nature. To realize how popular AR15s are becoming with people that want to kill other people and then ban them.
We will keep chasing this problem around and around as people find new ways to kill people.
After the country music concert and now the church and Texas even some conservatives are going to jump on the anti assault weapon bandwagon.
Public eateries are there to feed ppl.
Your mailbox is there to store your mail.
Your steak knife is there to cut your steak.
Your boots are there to protect your feet.
Baseball is a game.
Paintball guns as made are non-lethal.
Fuel heats your house, runs your engine, etc.
Spotters are there to save you from failing a lift.
All these things can be used to kill someone true but their intended purpose is something else. Please explain to me what a gun's purpose is, and don't tell its for fishing.
You realize all your examples are of extreme, far fetched scenarios so if that's your only argument then your argument fails since appeals to extremes are not valid arguments.
It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. If it ever gets better. In the meantime just be aware we lived in an armed Society and act accordingly.

Maybe the Chair force didnt report his court martial to the FBI when his background was checked? If they did he would of been denied.
All these examples and one doesnt need to look further than this site and what we do here. AAS is illegal. We here are all potential felons because we buy illegal drugs for our own gain. How did making it illegal fucking help?

Thats what i was pointing out. A dishonorable discharge is the equivalent of a civy criminal record. He was legally unable to buy a gun.

When someone kills mass people with a truck the left wants you to blame the driver. When somone uses a bomb the left wants you to blame the person who made the bomb. When someone mass murders with a gun the left blames the gun. This is their logic and I can show many examples to back my comment. These incidents of mass shootings did not occur 30 years ago to this degree when we had the same game laws or less strict ones. Something has changed in society and it certainly isn't guns. The left doesn't want to stop at banning certain firearms or attatchments. Their goal is complete public disarmament and any suggestion otherwise is bullshit.
