Well researched supps that actually work for you?

I'm a 45m and I've tried quite a few supplements through my 'casual' self improvement / weight training journey, most of which had conflicting research to back up any tangible results. Of course, I had to try them for myself and see if they worked for me, most of which I saw no change in performance or gains. I also tried to follow the consensus of opinions on when is optimal to take 'such and such' supplement as well as how much to take for the greatest benefit.
Now I also know that some supplements out there really cater to the very top % of elite athletes / bodybuilders. A supp that may give them that extra edge may not give the average gym rat any return on investment.

The main supps I've stayed with over the years are:
1. Whey Protein
2. Creatine
3. Multivitamin
4. Omega 3's
5. Caffeine
*. Potassium / Magnesium to aid in preventing cramping

What supps do you all run that you know help give you an edge in training, specifically in weight training?

I am 41 and coming to the end of my 1st cycle. I used test 500mg a week. After using test and for the cost, i really changed my perspective on supplements. I used every natural product on the market over last 22 years of lifting. Nothing ever made a noticeable difference and to think of all the money I wasted.
That said I do like to supplement with fish oil, zinc, magnesium glycinate, berbine for blood sugar support. For cosmetic or performance (feels) supplements. I like cialis and agmatine for pump.

I take the same along with Vitamin D (I do have a deficiency), supergreens, and CoQ10.

I just started TRT 5 weeks ago. Low dose to start: 120mg week ever 3.5 days. Waiting until week 8 to do bloods and modify if needed.
Yea, all of that money wasted... I believe everyone who is looking to improve their health / gains does the same thing and looks for an advantage in supps. Many may never come to the realization that most supplements are not going to ever work like they want them to, and some supps seem to work for some, but not others. Kinda need to find your own path.

I've never heard of Agmatine, I'll do some research.

Thanks for sharing!

I take D3 three times a week for deficiency as well. I'm a little ignorant on the supergreens. I've tried them in the past, but never stuck with them.
Are all brands created equal when it comes to Supergreens? Or will I really notice a big difference with a certain brand?

What was your criteria when choosing your favorite brand? Or was it trial and error until you found one you really liked?

So it’s not so much that I felt any different with one brand over another. I went with the brand below because of the ingredient profile. Packs a lot of shit into a serving.

CONTROLLED LABS Orange Triad Plus Greens for Men and Women, 30 Servings Iron Free Sports Supplement for Overall Health, Multivitamin, Digestion, Immune System, and Joint Health https://a.co/d/7PpDq6z

When eating a good quality healthy diet i notice little effect form supps for the most part. Over the last 40+ i have tried many but just use the ones that may add to my general overall heath. If i want a sup that asks like a drug and has a real effect i am better off just using a drug.

Fish oil, magnesium bisglycinate, zinc, D3 (EOD-2 month cycle on off) generic multi, milk protein when I am in a pinch.

Electrolytes have been made a big impact for me.
Theacrine is nice for competitions because lasts longer than caffeine. I don't use it for day to day training.
