What does it feel like when you hit a nerve or vein?

So I was doing my shot today n I put it in the first spot n felt a weird soft pain like dull kinda pain this was in the usual area I do my glute on the right side, I immediately realised it must have been either me going through a vein or through a nerve so I pulled out n stuck it in a spot right by it n there it was fine, the other initial spot was bleeding like a mofo so I obviously cleaned it up with the alcohol swabs but now I’m curious as to what that weird ass pain I felt could have been, n btw if I did hit a vein is it fine to inject right by where you hit one drawing blood? Like I’m mostly worried regarding if you open a vein up by mistake then pump oil in a spot right next to it is that oil then at risk of going in the close by spot where it’s all messy or nah?

Anyways it’s the first time that’s happened so I’m definitely gonna start switching sites more due to me doing only glutes so far n I think scar tissue might be starting to form so will start going VG n quad for a bit, but yeah that was a weird ass pain (no pun intended ahah) it felt like something like collapsed in a weirdly soft but painful way, so I’m assuming either vein or I went close to a nerve either way yeah sorry for the rant just weird thing I’m curious about.

Hit a vein and inject, you start coughing from oil embolism. Otherwise I don't think it feels like anything. At least it doesn't for me.

Hit a nerve, and in my experience all the muscles connected to that nerve start twitching with spasms and also feels like "metallic lightning". If that makes sense.

And yeah you can pull out and inject close by, but you'll have more damage to heal from than just one shot. If I mess up a shot I just move to tomorrow's site.

I’ve hit a nerve a few times in my quad. Makes my leg lock out. One time my quad flexed so hard it bent the needle almost at a 90 while inside the muscle. You’ll know if you pin a nerve. You won’t be wondering if you did or didn’t lol.
Pin a vein and sometimes blood squirts across the floor when you pull the pin out. You usually won’t know you hit a vien until you pull out and if you’re pinning in the right spots it shouldn’t happen too often. I don’t worry about it because I’m injecting deep in the muscle not near the surface where the veins are so it’s fine. I like injecting quads because I can see all my veins clearly and I just inject between them.

VGlutes, Quads, Pecs, Traps, Lats are all good injection sites
I almost never pin glutes because I can’t reach around anymore

Metallic lightning is a good discription lol

Ughh I HATE hitting nerves. I'd rather hit a vein than a nerve.

Yo I think it was a nerve then (either that or went through scar tissue) but yeah I guess I should have moved to the left cheek but I didn’t want to go there n setup again cos I was in a rush, but it does feel like a lump under the first spot so I’m guessing maybe I pushed through scar tissue n nicked a nerve, the vein maybe otw out cos of all the blood ahah but yeah ik that if you hit a vein the shit happens immediately n you cough like crazy so that wasn’t it luckily.

Yeah that’s my main reason for switching to quads now too (that n scar tissue probably), n yo I was nearly sure it was a nerve but wanted to ask just cos I didn’t want to have injected too close to a vein but lightning metallic is a very good description shit felt like weird though so I dunno maybe I just grazed it cos ik how the hit nerve feels like from other stuff in the past n shits wayyy harder pain wise so I’m thinking I just nicked it instead of hitting it properly.

Btw you got any tips for quads? Ik you need to do outer upper quadrant but how to avoid nerves there? Veins I’m like you I can see em so shouldn’t be too much of an issue unless I hit a deep one but having it in front of me makes it a lot easier to aspirate n to aim in the proper spot instead of playing darts with my buttcheeks ahah

Yeah with quads I inject almost half way from knee to hip but slightly on the upper side. I never inject lower than halfway towards the knee.
And on the outer side. Looking down at your left quad that would be between 9:30 and 11:00. So not 90! Degrees on the side and not dead on top.
I always sit and relax the leg I’m injecting by slightly straightening it but keeping it relaxed. I also turn my body slightly so I’m injecting from the top straight down almost,
That’s just what I do. Others may have different methods they use but that works for me. Hope it helps

I’ve hit a small vein accidentally once, immediately felt this heat radiating thru my body, felt very confused and dizzy, laid down and started coughing like crazy. it was over in less than 5-10 minutes and i felt alright again

Hitting a vein with tren ace is literally the worst feeling ever, not because of the pain or blood, but The cough attack is enough to make you nearly black out

Haven't really had the cough attack with other compounds when hitting a vein, usually it just feels like an extra sharp pinch, followed by a potential squirter when you pull the pin out.

When I hit a nerve I get an electric shock feeling along with some muscle twitching. Scariest was pinning my quad then got some mad twitching which was enough to bend the needle.

Nicking a vein I get a nasty cough.

It's almost impossible to hit a nerve unless you jam that pin in quick as fuck. Slow down. A twitch or muscle spasm just means you touched the nerve or came too close. If my nerve twitches I still inject. I just go a little deeper past the nerve.
Nerves are covered by a slimy covering like you see with wiring. It will just roll out of the way if you take it slower on the injections. If you like to jam it in quick like a dart your at higher risk.

Hitting a nerve would be instant intense pain. I used to watch Boston Loyd inject like a dart. No wonder he damaged a nerve in his arm and had a infection.

Pisses me off when I go for a flu shot and they do this crap. I always tell them to slow down!

If you inject in the right spot in your quad you will never hit a nerve

If you are white, look for your veins on your quad under a bright light and you will avoid them

Veins are everywhere. They provide nutrients to your whole body. They are not just close to the surface. Even your bones will have ridges that your veins rest on.

Yes I know
But if you can see a lot of them and by doing so very rarely do I hit one

Your point about darting the pin can hit a nerve is definitely correct. Unfortunately some of us, myself included, have considerable scar tissue and slow is not an option in some spots because even if going slow the pressure that has to be applied results in a very quick pin after popping through.

If you feel intense pain after you've injected the pin it's possible you have hit a small nerve or injured one. DO NOT inject!
Boston Loyd made this mistake. Thought he was tuff and even with the pain he injected.
Slow down while Injecting and this shouldn't be an issue.

Then stop using that spot. You have many options. Quads and glutes are probably the worst place to inject.

Bro why you so demanding today? LoL
I agreed with you
Did you even read my post? I don’t inject glutes. I’ve injected daily for a long time.
I listed all my sites.
I’ll list them again for you
VGlutes, Quads, Pecs, Traps, Lats. Delts
I don’t need a lecture. Im just explaining why this can happen. Obviously my techniques have improved over the years as I have learned from my mistakes. Im not in this thread asking for any advice at all. I was offering some helpful advice and giving a testimonial of what can and has happened in the past so people can learn.

My last flu shot at a CVS the nurse hit a vein squarely and it was a gusher. What a mess lol.

Those are just as bad!

When you hit a nerve, the needle & syringe "bounce back" on you and you should reposition for a better site. If you proceed with the injection into a nerve center your limb will jerk and you'll lose oil and have to start anew.

When you nick a vein, after your injection & withdrawal of the needle & syringe, blood will present. It's pretty routine, but generally you should prefer sites (e.g., gluteus maximus) with reduced vascularization.

There is some overlap between POME (pulmonary oil micro-embolic events) symptomology (e.g., a dry, hacking cough) & what is associated with injecting into a vein, but this overlap is not 100%. POME has its own, largely unknown, etiology, that relates to theories that include lymphogenic or venous absorption of oil leading to transient acute pulmonary hypertension related to potential vascular occlusion and/or intravascular liberation of free fatty acids from hydrolysis of the oil.
