What kind of car to get?

I would spend $3k on a beater car that gets you from point A to point B. Then invest the rest so you can buy whatever car you want later.

I'd check out farm town dealers first. Lot of oldschool fun to be bought in great condition for the dirt.

At the moment though, there's a gorgeous '78 Datsun Fairlady Z Turbo listed for 6.5K. I'm not big on imports, but that's always been a dream car.

If I had to go newer and it was just a shits and giggles cruiser? I'm fond of the '08-12 Mustangs and the '08-12 5.7 Charger / Challengers can be had in about that price range.

Loved my Charger.

Still want to grab one of the last production year Beetles and rod it out. Definitely convert it to a hard top convertible.

But I'm assuming we're talking stock. XD

1988 Pontiac Fiero GT with an L67 (supercharged 3.8 V6) swap already done. Even better if the blower has been switched out for a turbo.

XD

Was looking at a listing for one just a few weeks ago and my palms were itchy. Those little fuckers are beastly.

I've been close to pulling the trigger on a few over the last couple of years. I've got Pennock's Fiero Forum bookmarked and check what's listed there regularly along with the 3800 swapped Fiero Facebook group. If the right one popped up close enough to me I probably wouldn't be able to resist getting it.

Maybe they're the oddballs, but every Ramsey disciple I've known has been irresponsible and broke as fuck.

So...great analogy. XD
Hard for your kind to get out of the trailer park so I wouldn't blame Dave Ramsey for your neighbors failures:oops::D

My buddy had a brand new Fiero GT when I was teen 1987/88? We drove to a concert in Providence RI in it. It was a low car. You sat down inside it real low.

Hey!

I miss the trailer park. Hardest part of my day was specifying frozen water cubes or meth when I hit the neighbor or up for ice.
My work gives us bday presents every year. One year my boss gave me a magnetic flashlight, seatbelt cutter. I asked what was I supposed to do with it. He said stick it to the wall in your house and have your old lady back up on it. I told him that my walls were sheetrock and I dont live in a trailer like him.

I drive a mercedes c class and absolutely love it. That being said, I purchased it a few years ago when I valued peoples perception rather than my own economic wellbeing. If I were to do it over, I'd purchase something under 3k and put the rest into investments and towards my future goals.

Drove a 2005 impala for 7 years and it was incredibly reliable FWIW.
