Really? The price of beef is no good in France? That steak he had isnt what we would call cheap but easily affordable for a middle class man on occasion. In reality that meal prolly cost about $25. Everything included. You could buy that same steak in a store and have Eman cook it up for half price and it would taste twice as good. Still not cheap like chicken or pork but definitely doable

The thing is, from what I recall, in the US you can get good deals by buying in bulk, but in France portions are quite smaller than in the US, so price per lb/kg is higher...

I was talking to a retired NYC plumber. And he couldn't get over how big I got. When I first started I was skinny and when I got into working with the NYC local union plumbers I got even more skinnier but strong as fuck.

We were recalling how years ago this is like 8-10 years ago when I first started that coffee break was still a Donut/Bagel/pastry/coffee or a quick cigarette and lunch was nothing in order to be more productive. The logic was "Food slows you down" so nobody dared eat anything out of fear we would all be layed off. So after quitting time you would see a bunch of starving animals running to McD's/delis/ pizza joints and whatever else just to grab a meal on the way home before dinner lol..


As the years went by you started seeing us younger guys having egg sandwiches, wraps, heroes and sometimes platters for coffee break and lunch was a meal too but you can always tell who the old timers were because they didn't eat anything and worked liked animals lol

Lol We also recalled a funny ass "Old timer story" this guy was Cool as fuck.....I mean he's the urban Marlboro man.

Me and him were at UN Plaza when that was being built. Years ago... and we were outside on coffee break when it came down through the floors that the plumbers had a pipe blow out and it was shooting gallons of water per second....and we were outside enjoying the spring time and I was all like "fuck I need to run to the shut off valve and with a cigarette in his hand he said "relax kid we're on coffee break" LOL... balls biggest Balls I ever saw on someone.

When things got really bad and they couldn't pay Journeyman anymore they had Helpers taking over and finishing jobs and I had my own job. A 17 story building.

Well the idiot supervisor I had hired out the street plumbing to another company and when I tied in the house trap and the water main from the outside sewer to the building and whatever else I didn't get any pressure from the outside main. My supervisor said "don't worry" so fuck it... 3-4 hours later Five Pumps worth 10 million each were running dry and when a pump runs dry you destroy the hydraulics system...

I had to run out into the street. I flipped over an iron street cover that weighed 300lbs and I jumped in the hole with a 24 inch wrench and with superhuman strength I managed to open the valve that had 4000pounds of back pressure on the street end of the valve. I had to crack the valve slowly or it would of exploded and I could of died.

The job is dangerous
