I want to hear everyones opinion on the best Multi-Vitamin.
What they would recommend and why.
Any bad experiences as well as good ones.
I dont want to get into any arguments about whether or not they work or dont see results. I just want to hear what everyone takes and their opinions of other supplements.
Feel free to post only your multi, or if you want, post what you take on a daily basis.

Me personally, Ive been taking GNCs Mega Men Daily Multi as well as a B-Complex, fish oil, and L-Glutamine.
I want to change my Mega Men ($30 a month) to something a little more affordable so lets hear some good feedback!

Thanks

There are a lot of good ones out there. Still fav, is Spectro by solaray. But previously I've used Ultra Mens Daily by twin lab for a year, and now I'm trying out Ultimate Nutrition complete Daily. I have easy access to Twin Lab products and have been very happy with this product line. But here is a list of my Daily stuff. But I've tried tons of stuff out there, so let me know questions.
Country Life Maxi C complex 1000mg twice daily
Complete Daily Multi ultimate nutrition
Coromega orange 2 packets daily (omega 3)
Twin Lab Zinc 30mg night
Cal Mag w Vit D, twice daily
Twin Lab B-6 100mg 6x daily (only sometimes do I need this)

Good Deal, I think Im going to try that Spectro.
Did you take all 6 pills at once or did you break it up during the day?

I usually took 3 in the morning then 3 with dinner. They also make another product called spectro 3, which is 3 tablets, but caps absorb better IMO.

Twinlabs makes a few different multi's that are in a capsule form. Don't take tablets, they are a waste of money.

just think of the process...compact hard tablet, takes a long time for the body to break it apart, and by that time, its useless. Caps start the moment it hits your tongue. It costs less for a company to produce a tablet, that's why GNC, Walgreen's, Jewel...ect offer tablet products, cheap materials, cheap production, really cheap price.

You're logic does make sense as far as the process seems cheaper and everything.
Im just not sure if I'll let the disintegration rate be the factor in my multi-vitamin choice ya know?

Now I will say, that there are a few really good company's out there who produce tablets in a very light compact form, you can smash them with your fingers. ex. country life, solgar, Solaray, Kal. Enzymatic Therapy, (Nature's plus - I found them to be a bit harder) But you decide since your the one taking the product. But there are some good ones out there. If you ever have any questions just ask. Been in this industry for a long time.

There are alot of "junk" multis out there. Alot of companies use cheap processed versions of the vitamins and minerals in their products, and the body cannot utilize them. Find a multi that gets the vitamins and minerals from whole food/natural sources. The minerals should be chelated as well.

I prefer "Alive" by Natures Way. Source Naturals also makes a good Multi that was highly ranked. Bot are affordable.

If I was asking about Steroids I would have posted this in the STEROID forum, not the nutrition forum.
What exactly is your basis on that statement that they can kill you?

Peanuts Can Kill Someone...
Drinking too much water can kill somone...

Don't be a fool, if you make a statement like that let's hear what your facts are.

There are a lot of great brands mentioned in this thread, Twinlab is good, Solaray and Solgar are even better. Kal and enzymatic Therapy and Nature's Way are excellent. Nature's Plus has some of the highest quality ingredients available, but their tablets don't break down very well.

I buy all my vitamins and minerals separately.

And if you want the best complete combination of vitamins and minerals, you will need to go to a health food store and buy them seperately or get a 3-6 tab a day supp.

The least expensive Vit C is as good as the high priced stuff, and I look for 1 gram C with rose hips as this usually contains micro-fractions like Bioflavinoids and Rutin. Avoid "timed-release" as it contains more binders—also avoid buffered and Esther-C. Plain old Ascorbic Acid works best.

No Vitamin B supplement works anywhere near as efficiently as B complex vitamins derived from whole foods, so I don't skimp here and always get Solgar's "Megasorb 50."

Vitamin E should always be D-Alpha tocopherol—not DL. And it's best to have the beta, delta and gamma tocopherols added.

Look for ferrous fumarate as your iron source, as it is derived from wheat, and is one of the few forms of iron which does not interfere with absorption of vitamin E.

Cod Liver Oil should be the source for Vit A and D. The irradiated ergosterol forms are the kind that can prove toxic in mega-doses.

I also do not like minerals in gluconate form or derived from limestone, oyster shells, etc. Calcium lactate or citrate are best absorbed. Calcium and Magnesium should be in a 1 to 1 ratio. The 2-1 Cal/Mag is outdated thinking.

Look for a complete array of trace minerals. Overlooked, but important.

Last, but not least, I prefer capsules over tablets, as I am more certain of complete breakdown and absorption. Tablets contain binders that hinder absorption.

On B-12....most red meat eaters get more than enough B-12, and the addition of dessicated liver tabs provides all the B-12 the body can use. Cooked beef liver is probably even better.

Years ago I searched for a multi-vitamin that filled all my requirements. THe closest I found (about 12 years ago) was a 6 tab a day product called "Omniplex." A friend of mine was a long distance truck driver and asked my advice on the best multi to take on his trips. He said these provided a dramatic energy increase. Good luck.

basically the fact youre probably a 5'10 guy who wants to get taller and never will
and cant get big enough on weights

okay....well I'll stick to the form topic. MHP makes a pretty decent multi called activite for men. Pretty impressed with it so far.

I was reading recently how enteric coating is important for breaking down the nutrients in your system. After doing some searching, I found some multi's that sound excellent and also has digestive enzymes. I'll have to take 7 a day but it should be worth it.
