What's Your Opinion / View on Steroids shortening Lifespan?

Running a few cycles a year probably has no significant effect but blasting your tits off year round is potentially taking decades off our lifespan. I have blasted tren for several years straight for example and I am not under any illusion that it hasn't had an effect even thought all organ scans (including heart ultrasound), bloods etc have been fine. Heck, even my lipids are all in the reference range on 1.5g of gear (tren too) except hdl of course. I am taking every supplement and prescription drug out there to counteract the harmful effects. Whether it makes a difference or not I will find out soon enough. I have not been under 500mg test in a decade except for a few experiments on cycle where I tried to lower it to see how dry I can get.

What supplements do you take out of interest mate - see if there are any I am missing out on? :-)

But I 100% bet you will ROFL ;)
It's like pringles. Once you start...you never stop ;)
(assuming you know what pringles are).
So true

I was going to use a fast food analogy “ it’s like fast food, a little every now again …..”
but the Pringles line is perfect

I think about the life-shortening aspect of this a lot. What I do now is:

1) I only blast testosterone. My last two blasts have been test cyp at 700 mg weekly for ~16 weeks

2) I only blast once per year. So out of the 52 weeks of the year, 16 of them are spent blasting and 36 are spent cruising.

3) I cruise at a dose that puts my test levels at about 1000-1100 ng/dL. I intend to lower my dose so that I am at around 800-900 ng/dL and when I am even older, maybe lower it further so that they are at 600-700 ng/dL.

4) I take blood pressure meds to keep my bp in range.

5) I keep my cholesterol at very good levels year round

6) I keep an eye on my eGFR (measured via cystatin-c since creatinine is not reliable for us)

7) I intend to do an echocardiogram once every year or so to keep an eye on LVH

8) I want to start checking for atherosclerosis every so often. What are the best tests for this?

Please feel free to add to this list and/or critique it.

What aboit yoir BMI? Are you on a forever quest to get larger? Do you have an end goal or is it simply to get as big as you can get? I notice a lot of guys on here seem to be forever trying to get bigger, i dont think they understand though that the bigger you get has a direct correlation to more health problems and shorter life expectancy as well as reduced quality of life overall.

I think it was Rich Piana who made a statement about how the body doesnt know the differ3nce between 300lbs of fat or 300lbs of muscle. Im paraphrasing of course, and what he said wasnt 100% accurate but the point he was making is that the bigger you get the bigger the problems you will face will be and jist because yoir size is muscle and not fat does not necessarily mean that weight is healthy. Muscle or fat, it puts enormous round the clock strain on the heart regardless. How mich size is enough? Does the average juicer really have an end goal or is it just unlimited mass pursuit, an aspiration that will almost certainly shorten their lifespan even in the absence of any AAS use to achieve it.

You ever heard of "Russian Roulette"? Well, that's what it's all about with AAS. You could be living healthy all your life, then try roids one day & bam, you have liver issues. You could be using roids for over a decade, you get a bloodwork & you're in the all-clear. No one really knows how anyone's body will react to using PEDs. The point is, if you don't have a bodybuilding/training need for them, then don't use 'em. But if you have to, then by all means get educated/research/get your personal physician involved/hire a IFBB pro, do the right thing to ensure you dose properly and do PCT if and when necessary.

In reality though I'd estimate that about 90% of gear users these days do it purely for aesthetic reasons with no real interest in bodybuilding or even just using gear to push past training plateaus. Most of them just wanna get jacked up or shredded down and usually only for the summer months too.

Most of the gyms I've ever used were always quiet/empty for most of the year with only a few serious lifters regularly training most days. As soon as the holiday season approached they suddenly got really busy for a few months with guys that were clearly dabbling with steroids. As soon as summer was ending....they all disappeared again until the following year

Good question. Right now I am 6'2, 230lbs, and my body fat % is about 18%. Of course BMI doesn't take into account bf %, so I am easily in the "obese" category with a BMI of 30.8.

I realize that I can only get so big before it starts taking a toll on my health. I only plan on blasting for the next few years then I will do TRT for the rest of my life, with maybe mini-blasts thrown in here or there.

I will only be able to maintain a certain size if my TRT dose puts me at 800-900 ng/dL. That's the size that I will have to accept for myself in the long term. I will have to stop wanting to get bigger and I will have to pursue other athletic goals. I think I can do it, as staying healthy is a big motivator for me.

They can, especially if abused.
If done properly...I believe they are the fountain of youth. Especially when you throw hgh in there with them.
