You're right, I don't know anything about the Marines or any other branch of the military. I never had the honor of serving but one thing I've noticed about those who have, including the ones on Meso like @TANGO.ECHO.KILO, @gr8whitetrukker and a lot of others, is they all have one thing in common: discipline.

It's so ingrained in them that it's become part of who they are. They take personal responsibility very seriously. They certainly wouldn't rely on their relatives to support them financially because they're too lazy to get off their ass and go to work.

"Busted so many times"? I was arrested 2 times in 1999 and once in 2008. Not before or after.
I was charged while in custody with assault(I don't count it as a"bust") stemming from a riot that was captured on the new cameras in a federal holding facility. That's a rare occurrence. The cameras have since been removed. The facility realized the cameras were more trouble than they were worth. For short time it was thought the cameras would curb violence by singling out aggressors in the inmate population as well as help protect cooperating gov't witnesses.
A handful of gov't witnesses(they are inmates as well) were seriously injured once transferred from that facility in retaliation because the guys that assaulted them were charged with tampering with a federal witness and received 5 yrs on that charge on top of the sentence for the crime that they were initially charged with.
Regular will confirm all of this.
