where to get carb drinks for cheep???

Walmart......Powerade 22.6 ounce can of powder - makes (8) servings of 70g carbs/280 calorie carb drinks. It is about $3.30 . So each drink will run you 41 cents - pretty damn cheap.

My local supp store has two pounds of dextrose for $2.50. Wine/beer making stores often have maltodextrin pretty cheap.

I do what DBP said, only I use the powdered Gatorade (dont use the premix crap). I bought a huge container at Sams Club for about $7 or 9. Its designed to make 9 gallons of finished goods.

I'm with BS here. Dextrose (glucose) is the most directly usable simple sugar. Buy it in bulk, and you can dose it very accurately yourself.
