A buddy of mine once told me there is a substantial difference between white and brown rice lol It personally doesn’t matter much to me but what’s everyone’s go to, come prep time or otherwise and why?

If you aren’t using insulin it makes no difference, if you are, you might just die.

Smart observation... today i thought that i was kinda sick of basmati rice, 100g of raw basmati comes almost everytime at 300g cooked... and i m sick of it... so today i tried fresh pasta made with some yolk into it, i searched for its Glycemic Index and it seems its kinda lower than basmati rice, but i think its unreal. Anyway, i thought, why should i eat rice that has a pretty low G I slow absorption etc if i m using insulin? I use Humulin R with rice, not Humalog... for the humalog post wo i use dextrose bananas etc... what are your thoughts on low gI foods while on insulin? I cant see a real reason... so i would prefer to eat my fuckin pasta instead of rice, with insulin... hope someone here enlightens me (Said the light bulb)

Basmati or jasmine boil in bag rice with some G Hughes sugar free bbq sauce stirred into it and whatever meat I'm eating. Makes dieting easy

Brown rice still has the husk on it, absorbs slower. White rice has no husk and is a "faster" carb. In the 1980's this was diet info 101, no bodybuilder ate white rice, it was blasphemy! lol Also we had a Mr Olympia in 1982 who was 195 lbs. Now bodybuilder's eat pop tarts and are 300 lbs go figure. If you are lean, eat white rice, if you are a fat ass, steer towards the brown or no rice!

1 cup of jasmine rice and two cups of water in the microwave for 14 minutes (times may vary) and call it a day. :)

I just did an 8 cup batch of organic California Jasmine

I rinse it until it runs clear

I soak it in a 4-5X the volume of water 24 hours

I strain and cook it in a similar large amount of water

big reduction / elimination of Arsenic this way

I then dry it in a food drying oven and then grind the dried rice in a blender. The coarse powder is now instant rice cereal. 1/4C Of this 90 mins before a workout
