Why I don't care if you get scammed

So the logged IP's are available to the members??? Humor me here, I know shit about computers, you saw how much trouble I had with winzip.
I understand the mods not wanting to be involved. It would be pretty cool if the ips were available to everyone and we could do our own detective work.

I've been a member of many boards,,,All of them bash Meso,,,What I noticed is that on each and every one of them people got scammed,,,A lot of times it was mod that was a source also(Irony???),,,Almost everytime one or more mods had backed the source(some where receiving gifts or fronts at cost),,,The only solution is either to abstain from roids completely or arm yourself with knowledge,,,I know I sound like a broken record but it works,,,I've never been scammed by a source,,,I admit on 2 occasions sources that were "golden" that I and others recommended turned scammer,,,It is a chance we all take,,,VDC

in my opinion if you dont want to moderate the classifieds(which i dont blame you) then the best solution is to get rid of them. the classifieds is what kept me from joining for quite awhile cause it gives this board a very bad rap on other sites. everybody on other boards talks about how bad the classifieds are here and they say dont bother going to meso. i really dont think there is any place for a forum where people are allowed to openly call each other scammers without proof and to have multiply screen names so they can bump themselves to be able to scam people. just my .02 worth.

AMEN! I agree!

I, and I venture to guess the other Mods, really done care what people on other boards say. IMO, most other boards really suck ass and are far from being places of sound information. Ive checked out some other boards and I would estimate that the majority of them get 200 posts per day, max. And that includes their classifieds. Meso averages close to 700 posts per day, and even if you take out about 50% for classifeids, we are still far and away more active than almost every other board.

Beyond just the number of posts, the quality of posts makes a large difference. I honestly believe that no other board can rival Meso in terms of quality of information for training and nutrition. Some are good at one or the other but not both. Even our pharmacology section is a bastion of sensible information for newbies and experienced guys. A lot of other boards wouldnt even consider telling a 155 pound newbie not to use AAS (which we told a guy numerous times yesterday to stay clean).

As for the classifieds, its like the Wild West and thats how its going to stay.

Hogg and to the rest of the mods. You have to moderate the classifieds. I personally spend no time there, but I do know that if you do not moderate them it will come back to bite the owner, and maybe some of the mods, in ass if you do not. I would hate to see the mods and the owner get in trouble over the classifieds. Why not just get rid of the classifies?

honestly, its not your position to tell people what to do around here and unless you somehow magically assumed ownership of the board last night, kindly share your opinion with someone else.

How do you know what will the bite the board in the ass and what will not? How do you know what will get the owner and mods in trouble? I'm sorry, do you argue cases of this type in front of a court or are you another monday morning armchair legal consultant?

Finally, why, if you do not even visit the classifieds, do you care what happens? Who are you to tell us what should stay and what should go? I think you need to check your role and kindly keep your nose out of things that you clearly do not belong in.

Just to mods, not members... as you know it's so they can find out who is masquerading as someone else. That one guy with 6 names a while back...

If you want to know your IP, open up a dos window and type ipconfig, or winipconfig (depends on which operating system you are using).

That address is given to you by your ISP (internet service provider), on a loan basis, usually around a week at a time, though some never change even though they are supposed to be dynamic.

But if someone knows your IP, they can run a tracert, and sometimes even find your physical location immediately. If someone had your IP, it's easy to get your name and then address. If they don't like you, they can shut your computer down with a DoS attack (denial of service). It overloads your pc's NIC buffer with requests for packets that they never respond to, so your pc waits, and waits, and waits.... and in the mean time, your internet connection stops cold.

First person edited to CORRECTLY explain why IP's are dangerous to let out, NOT to be misconstrued by others as a threat... sheesh
