Honestly, I believe in Toxic Masculinity. Men can be Toxic as all hell, and women will be attracted to them. But, a toxic women is fcking awful. I talk to women about this. We talk and i tell them that they love toxic men.
Here's the situation. They love toxic men, and are willing to ride the ccck carousel (in a lot of cases). Once they hit that age, and "Tyrone and Chad" see no use for them, they will settle for some "nice guys". I would tell them to look at their current husbands, aren't they nice, clean, "safe" picks. They all agreed.
At the end of the day, I agree with Jordan Peterson. He said, ""You should be a monster, an absolute monster, and then you should learn how to control it.". It's like this, the "hero" has to have some sort of "bad streak" in him to deal with the "villain".
Even the Boy Scout Superman will kill for the right reasons.

The term was originally coined by psychologist Shepherd Bliss back in the 1980's as a was to describe his authoritative, domineering father who was in the military and was abusive and violent. Bliss's intent was not to vilify men for being masculine at all. He was part of a men's movement to help men rediscover their masculinity in healthy ways.
So, when someone uses that term today they clearly have no idea of the origin of the term. They're using a term invented by a men's activist who championed men's rights and needs as a way to shut men down and make them feel bad for having masculine traits.
Just my two cents, but I've come to find that so many women out there today don't hate men. They actually hate themselves for being women and wish they were men. So instead of being honest with themselves they attack men and misdirect their resentment toward men. I also think lots of times these women simply don't know how to function in a healthy relationship with men. So instead of taking any accountability for their own shortcomings they blame men for all their problems.

Authentic masculinity and toxic masculinity are not the same thing. The title of this post references toxic masculinity and the body of the post makes no mention of anything toxic.

Toxicity is not exclusive to sex. Both men and women can be toxic. The phrase was taken out of its original context to push a misandrist agenda. It's mostly miserable women who casually throw that term around. They also use these ridiculous made up words "mansplaining" and "manspreading." I have never come across a woman who was truly content with herself and with life, in general, using these terms.
