Will I get my strength back?

I start (hopefully for real this time) TRT this Wednesday, and I forgot to ask you guys. Right now, my strength is practically gone. I can lift nearly as much as I could 2 years ago. Will I get my strength back after I start HRT?

Judging by your pic here and the ones on bb.com, you look like a pretty big dude already. How did you manage to build that much lean muscle with low T? I can't remember if you said that you've done AAS before or not.

I would have to say that I gained strength on TRT. When I used to cycle prohormones, my strength would soar, for me, when "on" then slowly drop when off. I've now been on TRT for a few months and my strength has slowly been creeping back up, although not to the level it was during a prohormone cycle. Then again, I'm eating at a calorie deficit to lose bodyfat, whereas I'd be eating at a calorie surplus when "on" before. It would be interesting to see how I make gains when eating more.

So, my prediction is that yes, your strength will come back, but if you were doing AAS before, not to that level.

When I first started on TRT, for a couple of months my strength increased really rapidly. It was actually a little unsettling - (I work out mostly on machines) I went from using about half the stack to using the whole stack on most of them (I'm not a big guy - 5'10'' 165 lbs.).

I' m now beginning to think though that my dose of T at the time was too high so that I may have been at a supraphysiologic level. My strength continues to increase, but it's not skyrocketing like it did.

I've never done steroids or prohormones or any form of testosterone booster. I got most of my gains just before I found out I was hypogonadal. I still gained after the detection of low T, but it was VERY slow. I guess I attribute my gains to a heavy diet, lots of sleep, and intense training.

I can't wait to have my strength back.

Krom, I've been hypo my whole life....didn't realize it for a long time and docs kept telling me it was normal once I did realize it.

Anyway, I managed to build up quite a bit of muscle without good T levels it just took lots of work. Once I got on TRT I noticed a gradual increase in recovery and a slight increase in abilities (strength and endurance). I wouldn't expect a day/night change but I would expect some improvement.

So, based on your physique I'd say you know the meaning of hard work (besides yer a Leatherneck) :D Just keep up the hard work and you won't be disappointed.

I started on TRT because of ED and fatigue issues, but my research into TRT brought me to boards dedicated to building strength.

Around the time I started TRT, I also changed my diet because of my new-found knowledge of proper diet to build mass. I also started transitioning from pretty lame lifting (basically just curls and pushups at home) to something more serious (six months later, I am still learning how to lift, however).

I have been careful to keep my total and free testosterone within the normal range. I am not doing AAS.

My weight when I started TRT was about 145-150 lbs. Six months later, it is now 180-185 lbs with similar bf%. I attribute most of my gains to proper diet and training. However, I must give credit where credit is due and TRT has certainly made a difference, even if for no reason other than lifting me out of a bit of a depression.

My family of course sees a big difference and without understanding of the difference between TRT and AAS, they are a bit suspicious. I can hardly blame them, but as I eat and train proper, I feel better, so that is what I will continue to do.

Thanks for the reply, bros. I see the Doc in 2 days, hopefully, this time, he will write the damn perscription.

If not, I'll rip his head off that shit down his throat... np. :D

I hope things get better with this.
