wisdom teeth???

I'm going to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled in a week or two, and I was wondering if it would be ok if I continued to lift while they are healing? I dont mean like the next day or anything, like maybe a few days later. Will my body stop making and repairing muscle to repair the affected area? I also will not be able to eat solid food for a while, so is it ok for me to eat only shakes for a couple days? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

bro, i had mine out last summer. lemme tell ya its a great cutter. lol. It was the most miserable 2 weeks ever, i lost 15 lbs, got 2 dry sockets, and had the most horendious taste/smell in my mouth( anything you eat or drink gets stuck in the sockets and rots, my girl somehow forgot to tell me that i needed to clean with slatwater, since they told me while i was dead to the world ). I made the doctors gag when i went in for a checkup. Mine werent in yet tho so they had to cut them out. Demerol is fun tho. I wouldnt have been able to lift if i had wanted to, your mouth starts throbbing like a bitch from walking too fast. anyways good luck and tell the docs youll shoot em if you get a dry socket.

I had all 4 of mine removed and they were all impacted. It wasn't bad - I was eatting semi solid foods that night. No pain really. Although all the vicodin they gave me helped. As for training, give it a few days and see how you feel. I was able to go and just take it easy 4 days later.

What kind of reaction was it? My dad had a reaction that nearly killed him. He was in a coma for three days. Not long, but long enough!

Mine didn't really hurt at all. I went to Mexico a week later. I only used the painkillers for the first day. Make sure that you go to a drug store and buy a little thing that looks like a syringe that you use to shoot water into the holes in your mouth. This removes the food and makes it a lot less annoying. If you get dry sockets, that's about the only way it will hurt. I remember working out after a few days and never had any problem eating, other than having to chew with my front teeth.

its where the bone is exposed where the tooth was. It doesnt heal properly or something so there isnt anything covering the bone... i wanna say scab but that doesnt sound right. It doesnt scab up right.
Hurts like hell and takes forever to heal

hell if i know, i was too fucked up, nothing serious, just red bumps i guess

My dad's muscles tensed up, his body temp. skyrocketed (is that a word?) and his organs started to fail. Scary stuff.

I had to chime in with my wonderful experience. I was in the military when I had mine removed. I received a local novocaine injection for the pain while they were being removed, mine were also impacted and coming in horizontally, quite interesting according to the Doc. After everything was removed I was given 800mg Ibuprofen for follow on care. Apparently thats the military cure for everything pain related. Luckily I didnt get any dry sockets. A dry socket is when the blood clot that forms over the area where the tooth was becomes removed and the bone is exposed, from what I hear its a painful experience. What a miserable week that was. I began working out again 2 days later and eating solid food about the same time, I did down a lot of protein shakes which helped keep the weight on. Best of luck to you!

Shoot... I GAINED weight .........did everything the doc said to do and I lifted the next day. That will put a strain on your sockets that were stiched up but I would go home slam my drink followed be a perc and then ice my face for a couple of hours( I lift at night). BTW I ate solid food that first night also. I feel a lot better since they are out.........mine were infected and I didn't know it untill I got them out.

After feeling around with my toungue, I think one of them is f*cking half rotted away! I felt it with my finger, and when I looked at my finger, there was blood on it! I'm calling the dentist first thing monday morning. This pisses me off! I brush atleast twice a day.
