I'll never squat low bar on a regular barbell outside of a meet. I'll high bar if I'm ever stuck with one.
Yea man I hear ya. I'll be using it very sparingly. Im much stronger on Low bar, but the shoulder stress just isnt worth it with a regular bar. Even with the different grips its still fuckin me. There's always high bar but it puts wear and tear on my knees, it been fine with the low dose of deca but I cant use deca year around. Specialty bars it is.

Really didnt get the ratio of Bar weight to Bands correct but its a deload so fuck it. 300-310 at the top was fine even though it was more than 30% band tension. The green Mini's are the lightest bands they had out but there supposed to be some black minis that have less tension that may work for better for me on squats. I'll give them a try next time.
 
your good bro. its not that important at this stage ur just keeping muscles active. I hope you have a great time at your first meet. Remember this is for fun and you will have a blast. I treat meets like mini vacations or sometimes (Vegas) as a vacation. I usually even meet a Hot girl or 2.

I was pretty surprised there’s some hotties at this gym Im going to now. I really wasn’t expecting there to be good looking women in a powerlifting gym.

In. Better late than never.

What BW are you competing at? I know you said 220, but you keep dropping weight. What’s the closest class to 220?
 
Im doing 100 kg or 220 lb. I plan i being 215-217 morning of weigh in so i can eat because it an hour-2 drive. Not looking at cutting any weight this go around. Ive actually gained about 5 lbs from my start at about 211. I tried cutting earlier in summer, got to 205 but felt the drop in strength.
 
Id like to get my lifts up as much as possible and compete a few times. Shooting for 1500 lb total and I know Im a long way off but its a long term goal. Eventually drop down to 198 where the numbers would mean a little more. Have to stay on track and keep the wheels on this thing.
 
Im naturally a bigger person, I would have to cut weight to get in 242 and it would be hard. The 275 class there are fewer lifters and lifts about the same. Depending on how much I bulk i might be 280s a week before meet. I got measured im 23% BF at 275, I would like to get to 15% at about 265 to 268. I think when I get there I will get an elite total @ 275.

The hardest part for me would be bench. Lol. I know if I put in the work, I could pull 7 and squat 6... but coming up with a 450 bench would be a magic trick for me.
 
Bench is for sure difficult for me as well. The pause increases that difficulty, duration of the pause can be different depends on the ref.

Getting close to meet day. Left Bicep and forearm a bit sore, trying to keep it from getting worse so didnt spend too much time on upper today, called it once the pain started. One more workout this week for lower body, probably something relatively light and just try to keep the wheels greased, probably some speed work. I plan to hit my openers this weekend and basically just barely lift the week of.
