Work out -Three- or -Five- days a week?

Thread wasn't about failure- my apologies. I find 5 days a week works best for my training .

It def depends on what kind of program your running. For full body probably 3, for a split 5, and for another strength program it just depends, some are 4, some 5. So it will depend on what program you run how many days per week.

Or how about Arnold's routine

Morning Evening
Day 1 chest, back, thighs calves abs
Day 2 Shoulders, arms calves, abs
Day 3 Chest, back thighs, calves abs
Day 4 shoulders, arms calves abs
day 5 chest, back thighs calves abs
Day 6 shoulders, arms calves, abs
Day 7 off off

All supersets, he was insane.... upper body was morning and lower evening

Here is what a Chest-back superset day looked like

Bench Press, sets 1 reps 30-45, (warm up with 135#)
superset with Wide grip behind the neck chin,1 set 15 reps(warm up)

bench press sets 1 reps 6-20 (pyramid)
SS, wide grip behind the neck chins, 5 sets 8-15 reps (pyramid)

Incline press 5sets 10-15 reps
ss, tbar 5 sets 10-15 reps

Flat dumbell flye 5sets 10-15 reps
ss wide grip BB row, 5 sets 10-15 reps (standing on a block)

Weighted dip, 5 sets 15 reps
ss close grip chin 5 sets 12 reps

Stiff arm pullover, 5 sets 15-20 reps
Iso-tension contraction (This is forcefull flexing and posing)

All together 45 working sets with no rest during SS and a minute or so between SS. The workout took at total of about 45 minutes after warmup suppossedly. Typically his rep scheme for exercises would be 15,15,12,8,6, pyramiding in weight while reducing reps....

Everyone's recovery changes through the years a rigid strict program that someone else wrote up is a bad idea as one size doesn't fit all, after doing this for many years I like to follow an instinctive approach go with what I feel like doing, too many factors can change stress, poor diet, more or less outside work, not enough prehab, going too heavy too often (poor cycling) too much cardio etc, takes awhile to dial in but it works best for me.

Exactly, You gotta find what works best for you... Hardly anyone could recover from Arnonlds routine. I was just posting to show his routine as it is a unique routine with more volume than any other routine I've ever seen.
