[SIZE=-1]When FIDE [Fdration Internationale des Echecs] adopted the anti-doping rules, its aim was not only to adjust itself to the requirements of the International Olympic Committee. Chess as a sport itself deserves the clean competition of the players, devoid of falsifications, cheating and doping. From the very beginning, we were well aware of that in chess we should not cope with steroids or other hormones used in the physical sports but at the same time the scientific research identified several substances that could effect the mental performance of a chess player. Thus, the introduction of anti-doping measures is more related to the fairness of chess than to the relationship with IOC. So far, we have not noticed any irregularities during the doping tests conducted in chess tournaments including the previous Olympiad, too. [/SIZE]
