How safe is WU is this your alls preferred payment option? Never used it just hesitant on showing ID

for Illegal WU checks on higher amounts for black money, that`s what most people do forget about.

they haven't asked for ID when I've used them

Usually they have to check the id.
maybe in small amounts the person did think it is ok without.
but regulatiosn they have to check. as far as I now here in Austria for higher amounts also to copy the id

I have used WU before for general transactions. I was told anything over $100 requires them to make a copy of the ID

Some stores ask for ID regardless of the transfer amount, so if you are asked for ID just go to another location.

They will only ask for ID over a certain amount. It says it right on the form. I forget how much it actually was. Something like 500. Even then, depending on the location, they usually don't ask.

I've never been asked for ID.

WU sucks, it is safe as long you can trust the person you are sending to. He can just pickup the money and never email you back. It is as safe as sending money in the mail.
