Funny, similar here, and I happen to be fluent not in their tongue but in the language of their old country's mortal enemy.... always entertaining to discover similarities btw the two languages.

You're actually lucky lol. I can't stand either of mine..I threatened my father n law two years ago and we haven't spoke since so it's really awkward at get togethers. My mother in law is an obnoxious, know it all whom of which I cannot even stand to be in her presence.

My father in law doesn't talk much but when he does, it's usually funny. He's chill. Mother in law will talk you ear off but she means well.

Man I hear these horror stories & I guess I got off lucky. Shit her mom & dad used to taxi her brother & I all over the place before we could drive lol. So when we finally got together almost 20 yrs later it made meeting the parents a piece of cake. Now every yr we go on a family cruise together & all get along great. I definitely dodged a bullet.
