Do you need a boat or can you catch them from shore?

Need a boat for mahi, usually have to be at least a few miles off the beach..
Ive never been salt water fishin. Looks like fun. You got a boat JB?

No boat, too much of a pain in the ass for me.. I'd rather pay out the ass to charter a boat for the 3-4x a year we go out, much easier!!
There's a lot of water right by the house, my son and I do some damage on the docks a few times a month too.. I love it, been fishing my whole life.
