Hey guys. Question... Still really new. Been training like 3 months and I've put nearly 50 lbs on my bench. Idk about dl or squat because I don't have enough weight... anyhow, what type of natural gains can I expect in my first year? I'm benching 175 right now, trying to get to 200 then 225 before I hit gear.

What are your stats? Age, weight, height, body fat (approx), years training. I think you may have posted them before but I don't remember.

I'm 27, 6 ft, 250lbs I only ever lifted on and off. This is the longest I've lifted consecutively... So really minor lifting experience prior.

I suggest putting more consistent time in with the weights. You can get very strong and big without AAS if you put quality time focusing on training correctly, eating correctly, and sleeping. You have years of growth ahead of you, without AAS, if you put the time in.

That may not be the answer you're looking for but it is the truth.

What are your goals? There's a bunch of knowledgeable guys here that would love to help you but only if you're serious about reaching them.

You want to hit 225lb before you touch gear ? you can only bench 175lb weighing 250lb at age 27 ?

I seen 14 year old kids bench more than you and they weren't thinking about steroids adding steroids to their diet .

The last thing you need right now is steroids . Sounds like you're skipping leg and back day and only working chest and arms .

I may be wrong. I dont think he was asking about taking AAS. He wants to know what he can accomplish in a years time natty.

And its up to you OP. Good diet, sleep, and CONSISTENT training will help. Get a solid program going and stick with it.
When I started my max bench was 95 lbs. I was at 310 before I ever touched any gear.

And dont limit yourself to a year. As long as your gaining natty, keep it that way.

Sorry if you didnt get a solid answer, but its the best I can do.

Understandable statement. I think I always looked at bench as "at minimum you should do your body weight" ... I'm 5'3 155 lbs and haven't done any cycles. I have never done a max bench but I can do 5 sets of 200x5 after warmups.

On a helpful note. You'll know when you've hit the upper limit. Keep logs and youll start seeing patterns. I started changing up routines and then going back but I would always find my limit was essentially reached for strength.

Give him some time. He's only been at it 3 months. I agree AAS should not be in the equation, but comparing him to a 14 y/o or putting him down doesnt help.

That's why I was asking what I can do natural. I don't want to juice right away, but I do want to get big

and I've seen 12 year olds with far better grammar. What's your point?

Thanks Jay. I'm trainings like a mad man. Loving it. I'm seeing consistent strength gains. Just not sure how long to expect them like this. I mean, if I can keep up these gains for the next couple years, I wrong touch juice until then.

You can see gains as long as you stay with it. Honestly I was at it for 7-8 years before I feel like a plateud. Im sure I couldve been more intense along the way though. Now you WILL slow down. Dont expect to put 50 lbs on every lift ever year.
Im sure @insertnamehere can help a little more. He's forgotten more about training then ill ever know.

@jaymaximus I only brought the AAS use into the forefront because I got the impression that OP was looking for a green light to start hitting the gear asap. However, after reading his responses, maybe I was wrong about that.

@NovaFlex If you're serious about wanting to get stronger there's a bunch of guys here that will help you understand what you need to do. All you have to do is ask.

Thanks man. Yeah, not looking for approval. Just curious what I can expect. I'd love to find a mentor though. I'm completely serious about my training.

If you're serious about training, getting stronger, and getting bigger then stick around, read and ask questions. Here's a couple of strength specific threads to read and get acquainted:

Just getting started but should offer some good insight:

New guy logging his training using a variation of my program:

Docs training log . Read, learn, ask him questions. He loves to help and he's the best.

Jaymaxs training log. He's just warming up, deciding on the correct program to run but there's already some good information in this thread and more to come:

You really need to start incorporating dl and squats, it does cross over to your bench. Bench is a lot about form and its a compound movement, so plant your feet on the ground. If youre not taking creatine you can start taking 5mgs of that a day, I just started taking it and really like it. Ill let the other guys tell you about diet.

When I focused on form and got serious I went from 185 to 225 in less than 3 months.

hey, thanks a lot @insertnamehere! Much respect, brother.

@Ozzy619 thanks for the advice, bro. But I think you misunderstood what I said. I do squats and DLs. I just couldn't measure my 1rm because I don't have enough weight. I only have 200lbs of weights and I can squat / dl Those for sets.

doing 5x5's where I can, but for dl and squats it's more like 5x10 because I need more weight.

I alternate db presses and bench press every other work out. Also alternate dl and squats every other While doing accessories like rows, bent over bb rows, stiff leg dl, etc. Also started adding shoulder shrugs to alternate with shoulder presses.

I get a pretty full body workout. I was just curious about what I can expect because I was sincerely amazed at my strength gain... I know it's not a lot fooh some, but I'm happy with where I'm headed.
