Hey, im currently 4 weeks out & im having a lot of trouble sleeping even when i feel so tired. the 100% reason i already know is because im so hungry. Does anyone who competes have any advice?

Wasn't it just this past Thursday you were saying you wanted to compete next year? Now, not even a week later you're 4wks out? Ppl generally give themselves more than 4wks to diet down to being stage ready.

1) to ascertain if you're lying or not
2) to let you know if you were unaware that 4wks isn't enough time to prep for your first meet, especially without a coach
3) bc I can

1) you wouldn't be the first to lie and you certainly wouldn't be the last. As to why, I can't answer that. Apparently the truth doesn't set some ppl free or they think it doesn't.

2) good to knowing that and to having a coach.

3) I wasn't being an asshole to you simply questioning things that I found odd.

If it's hunger related have you tried munching on low cal veggies before bed to fill your stomach? Or maybe try shifting your last few meals later in the day so more of your food is closer to bedtime. Other than that I don't compete in aesthetics only powerlifting so my help is limited. Maybe try some OTC sleep, products for the really bad days

Lots of people have this issue because of a combination of things.
Higher catecholamine levels when dieting, less carbs = lower serotonin levels, etc, etc.

I personally couldn't sleep without using doxylamine (anti histamine) at least 2-3x week.
Others have success with things like melatonin, 5-htp, L-tryptophan, etc.

Its one of those things where your going to have to experiment with different things to see what works for you since sleep regulation is notoriously complicated.

I believe your body adapts to the changes and a lot less sleep is needed to feel rejuvenated.

Here is a good read on a natural competitor and how your body responds to extreme prep situations. Granted everyone is different but this is a good study.

You could try a magnesium product or Valerian.

Abstract
Bodybuilding is a sport in which competitors are judged on muscular appearance. This case study tracked a drug-free male bodybuilder (age 26-27 y) for the 6 mo before and after a competition.

PURPOSE:
The aim of this study was to provide the most comprehensive physiological profile of bodybuilding competition preparation and recovery ever compiled.

METHODS:
Cardiovascular parameters, body composition, strength, aerobic capacity, critical power, mood state, resting energy expenditure, and hormonal and other blood parameters were evaluated.

RESULTS:
Heart rate decreased from 53 to 27 beats/min during preparation and increased to 46 beats/min within 1 mo after competition. Brachial blood pressure dropped from 132/69 to 104/56 mmHg during preparation and returned to 116/64 mmHg at 6 mo after competition. Percent body fat declined from 14.8% to 4.5% during preparation and returned to 14.6% during recovery. Strength decreased during preparation and did not fully recover during 6 months of recovery. Testosterone declined from 9.22 to 2.27 ng/mL during preparation and returned back to the baseline level, 9.91 ng/mL, after competition. Total mood disturbance increased from 6 to 43 units during preparation and recovered to 4 units 6 mo after competition.

CONCLUSIONS:
This case study provides a thorough documentation of the physiological changes that occurred during natural bodybuilding competition and recovery.

To be kind of frank, you probably will be hungry throughout. Learn to embrace it and enjoy the feeling knowing it is getting you to your goal. If you can't, it may not be the endeavor for you.

Its part of the journey and unfortunately if your not hungry at only 4 weeks out then your probably not going to be ready.

Things you can try as mentioned are anti histamines which make you sleepy. Physillium husks mixed with water which will provide plenty of bulk/fiber to try and keep you feeling full.
If you find your getting up in the middle of the night starving try having a glass of water and straight back to bed.
These never really helped me that much and in the end it just came down to will power, think how bad you want to win and every time you break your diet you give the advantage to your competitors.
If all else fails try listening to a politician give a speech about how they have our best interest at heart, that always put me to sleep lol.

i had the same problem and i fixed that
the reason you cant sleep is beacuse you eat low carbs and the Cardio
the Serotnin get down and sleeps problems appear
add Tramadol 200mg od at the morning :)
